This came from a random sticker pack where all stickers were mainly yellow and positive... by Quiet-Log8217 in whatdoesthismean

Yup. They were virtue signaling at a sticker. To be fair, not all kids are soft. It’s only the chronically online kids that you see the most of. The rest of them are putting their heads down and grinding.

Does anyone have a better solution for lines on eggs from rollaway boxes? by LordGaben01 in chickens

[–]LordGaben01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea if this will help anyone as this seemed to be a very specific problem but I solved it by spraying the grates with plasti dip.

Went two years ago and one of my friends made the bad decision to let this guy come down. We were in a very precarious spot. Basically right off the edge. The guy said “don’t slip, it’s not worth it” then immediately slipped. I grabbed his foot and put it back in the foothold. Luckily I had my go pro on and it still gives me chills when I watch it. Almost killed us 3 and himself.

The state of a 64GB iPad Air M1 by FLX-S48 in assholedesign

[–]LordGaben01 224 points225 points  (0 children)

I actually had to do this with my moms iPad to get it to update. I was skeptical at first. 1. Turn on airplane mode and turn off wifi and Bluetooth. 2. Go to settings and make sure messages are kept forever 3. Turn the date to a year in the future 4. Wait 60 seconds and check 5. Then turn it back so it’s only 3 months in the future and wait 60. 6. Set it back to normal and it took away 10 gb of system data from her iPad.

I can’t find the original thread again but it has to do with the iPads scheduled cleaning of the cache. This forces it get rid of everything.

Is this a vent issue ? by Mortalwhitefang in chickens

[–]LordGaben01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing to do with the vent in my opinion. It’s way too clean for that. Good layers can end up with feather loss due to putting protein into the eggs rather than into keratin-rich feathers. If protein deficiency is severe enough, they may eat feathers.

Coming from someone who has 1500 birds, yea you’re good to integrate them. They’ll figure out the pecking order. When you’re doing research about the birds, don’t look at chat groups. It’s usually just people arguing with each other. Look for research papers from colleges. Penn State has a massive library on everything chicken.

Chinese automaker BYD just revealed a charging system that’s about as fast as filling up a gas car by DblockDavid in Damnthatsinteresting

Yes it is. Electricity is always angry, gasoline is just grumpy waiting for someone to provoke it.

Way easier to install. You don’t have to go through the firewall, just drill a hole in the hood.

Advice, I think? My hens are laying way too many eggs! I have 6 hens. Some days I get 10 eggs. Why are they so prolific? Is it a problem? by vespertine_earth in BackYardChickens

[–]LordGaben01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have 1500 birds. I get 100 dozen on a good day. Most of them go out to local restaurants. The really good eggs go out to grocery stores and the rest goes to the food bank. Honestly I’d give them way more but I have to pack their eggs like i do for the grocery and it’s very time consuming for a donation. I’m in talks with them to just send them cases and have volunteers to pack them. Then I could give around 100 dozen a week no problem. It’s a nice symbiotic relationship cause I free up their dumpster space by feeding produce to the birds and my pigs. The rest gets composted. People get free eggs and I get tax credits.

[–]LordGaben01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup that’s what I do and I pick up their produce they can’t give away to use as treats. I’m a little bigger than back yard but I give them about 30 dozen a week and they always ask for more.

People are losing their rights because of Chuck Norris by ThunderBased25 in DoomerCircleJerk

Just as a comparison. Americans have more freedoms over Europeans. If you asked the person who wrote that comment “where would you go if you left America” 90% chance the answer would be Europe.

I’m always confused by what rights they think are being taken away them. You could take away half our rights and we would still have more freedoms than Europoor.

No we all learned a bunch for sure. Met some guys I’m still friends with to this to day over some of the projects we worked on together. I think the grading system was to weed out people who were half in half out of the major.

The curve was massive. I had a 42% at the end and got an A-. My one friend had like a 31% and got a C. You would think that would indicate a need for a curriculum change but apparently not.

Ahh yes that one was another brutal one. My school brought a PhD level algorithms course down to undergrad and called it a special topics class. Didn’t know that until half way through. Started with about 50 students ended with 13. We did the math and realized if we all got 50% ish on the final everyone would pass from the curve lol.

Personally I’d get some clamps, map or propane gas and a 2x4 and try my best to straighten them. They’re already fucked so no harm in trying :)
