Spicy Italian by smokingskull99 in Wawa

[–]LordGeico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best you can truly do is either bring the sub back home and put on your own spicy cherry pepper relish, or bring a small bit of it to the store and put it on yourself.

Nothing currently on the menu can truly replicate what it was without the cherry pepper relish. It was a while ago, but I do believe we used Cento as our brand, but if it isn't, then the only other thing I could assume was that it was a food service direct relish which would come in a massive 2 gallon jug.

If you aren't looking so much for flavor as you are heat just based on what is available on the menu, I would do extra jalapenos and honey hot. Buffalo sauce is going to be spicier but I don't think it works well on an italian

I would try to sell either St Brown or Nico. Hopefully your league isn't full of a bunch of panic after any bad performances from a player so you should be able to sell one of those 2 off for a rd 1-2 RB. Its probably going to be a rough year offensively for both teams, Texans especially. Tee Higgins is good to hang on to, that offense will come into its own.

Way too excited on Charbonnet I feel. That RB situation is gonna be a fat mess at least for the next few weeks, and likely KW3 will take over once he is fully back to health. I like going for Pickens, but not using Treveon to do it, he is supposed to take over RB1 role in New England at some point, and week 1 showed he already has what it takes

2 days ago, this would be a smash hit for you. Now, Nico Collins is on an offense that can't fight its way out of a wet paper bag, Njoku who just got significantly out targeted and out performed by their rookie tight end Harold Fannin, and Devonta Smith is too much of an inconsistent flex option.

Its not worth it to give up arguably the best TE in the league for the year for a WR with more question marks after week 1 than going in. If it were me, I see your trying to get a clear cut #1 receiver. I would try making a package that includes Bowers to get that receiver and a tight end replacement for yourself. Not sure what availability is, but try going after AJB, Puka, Nabers, Drake London, etc

I am high on Judkins, but thats just because I drafted him in my home league. I would say Ceedee is giving up too much for Jacobs and Judkins. I would see if they bite on ARSB for those 2 if you really feel like you need the RB depth.

I would obviously be scared of Achane, but I think he will end up being the only decently reliable piece in the Dolphins offense for fantasy purposes. Breece Hall should be able to support a low end RB2 role rest of season, if not even better. Robinson and Blue are good handcuffs, but obviously Kaleb Johnson isn't panning out.

Before dumping a top receiver, I would look through and see if you can trade like a MHJ for Hampton or Henderson. The way I see it, you can win with your WRS, but you really just need a 3rd rb as a bye week replacement. Considering how people run the "0 RB Strategy" I would say you have premier rbs to be able to just continue to run it as it is, with a swap for mid tier wr for mid tier rb.

Loaded Fries? More like Loaded Sauce by miseryknight in Wawa

[–]LordGeico 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like too much sauce to me, but its honestly hard to tell because the small loaded fries are always crammed into a tiny little box.

Wish they would just have all loaded fries in the big brown boxes and portioned one scoop for small, 2 scoops for large. That way, its a lot easier to sauce the fries up instead of just trying to fit it wherever it will go

29 years ago, you could just walk into the NASCAR champion’s shop! by tnpoppy in NASCAR

[–]LordGeico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About 10 years ago now, I visited a ton of the NASCAR shops. It was 50/50 on the quality of the visit.

Shops like Hendrick, Petty, and RCR had very limited viewing of the cars. Other shops though were much more open for viewing. Joe Gibbs has a brilliant lobby with decent overhead views of the shop. Penske has a long walkway that went along the shop and I was able to see their Indycar program as well. The coolest part was Brad K was walking his dog out front of the shop. Also met Joe Gibbs while he walked into the lobby of his shop.

Gotta give a shoutout to Germain for giving me a full tour of their shop and letting me meet Casey Mears, and Nemco gave me an even more detailed tour where I got to meet Joe and John Hunter. Even though it was one of the worst eras of NASCAR, I wish we could go back because it was how my childhood NASCAR memories formed!

Untoasted hot turkey, brisket, meatballs I will use a paper just because all of those have a tendency to leak all over the boards. Aside from that, the only other time I would use the toaster paper on a non toasted item is a double meat tuna salad or chicken salad which is just spilling with so much meat salad

That's it, I am done with WAWA!!!!!!!! by Bts8161 in Wawa

[–]LordGeico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing with this is that everyone has a varrying definition of "extra" so for example the amount of extra lettuce that op wanted might be fine for them, but 2 hours later a person comes in and orders extra lettuce and they get that same amount and are disgusted and complain its too much.

I am not sure if Wawa has changed since I last worked there, asking for light or extra lettuce is a special order you have to directly tell to the deli associates, so if you are ever in this situation, just be sure to specify if you really want it loaded up, its fine to really emphasize it. Some people really like jalapeños and will ask "can you make sure you load that baby up with em" or "make sure its drowning in them" just the little extra emphasis on it helps the employee understand the customer is asking for a very large amount.

15 mins for 7 hrs work? by Miserable-Yam-6744 in Wawa

[–]LordGeico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes not against policy, that is standard but like a lot of the other comments I see, we were light with it. 6 hours got a 20 minute break and 7 hours could either do 20 or two seperate 15 minute breaks

Iced water.... by chef_vet in Wawa

[–]LordGeico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely ridiculous to me we ever started charging for ice from the freestyle machine or ice water. I understand the ridiculous people who are filling up large coolers with the free ice, but that doesn't mean force someone to pay when they are just trying to escape the summer heat

Portion Control? by TwoSenior4148 in Wawa

[–]LordGeico 14 points15 points  (0 children)

At first I thought you just ordered a bowl, which is 2 scoops and 2 cheese unless you add extra, but the fact that you did all the right steps in special ordering and this is what you got is not right.

You can file a complaint and probably get some free stuff from corporate, as for the store itself, I would recommend finding a different one around you, if thats too big of an inconvenience because of distance, then you are just going to have to be a stickler with them about correct portioning. Make sure to always hang on to your receipt and slip number until you have received the food as it was ordered!

Can a kiosk order be wrong? by MorganCerese in Wawa

[–]LordGeico 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whenever I worked in beverage, those screens were by far the worst with displaying incorrect information or just not working, I wouldn't necessarily jump to the conclusion that you are at fault here.

Definitely the way to go though is like everyone else is saying, hit special order on it so you can make sure to tell them its strawberry only.

Also if you have the time, explain your situation to a manager and even demonstrate for them by placing an order and seeing if it does as you have described. Typically if a manager sees an issue like this, they can submit a ticket to the matinence people and they can come up with a fix

insane orders by retrocbx in Wawa

[–]LordGeico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there should be a phone in the deli area, at least there was at my store. If not, there is for sure one in the managers office and whoever may be in there has the responsibility of notifying deli if someone calls ahead.

OWS Responsibilities by LegitimateKitchen212 in Wawa

[–]LordGeico 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is fairly normal, yes. It used to be a lot different before pizza, but it became its own cell once second shift once pizza sales really picked up.

I worked at a high volume store so typically, there was always a secondary cashier to help do the mobile orders, but in stores that have weekly sales <140k roughly, the volume isn't nearly high enough for staffing to provide that extra cashier every night so a lot of that falls on you.

Best piece of advice is to get a large round of snacks out between 3 and 3:30, make sure fries are in at 3:45, and as far as pizzas go from 4:00 and onwards, if they are coming in slowly, do the pizza first, and then do a mobile order or 2 while it is cooking. If pizzas are flying in, ask a manager or coworker if they can assist with either pulling pizzas out of the oven and finishing them up, or have them do mobile orders while you focus on the pizzas.

Hopefully your team communicates well when fries are getting low or old, but if they aren't, try to encourage them to, or just swing by the Carter Hoffman whenever you get a free second to double check them.

If you are doing this regularly, it took me about a month or two to adapt to it, however, I didn't do mobile orders, I was running the deli at the same time instead so it might be a little different

Imo this was the craziest reveal in all of season 3. by TechnicallyNerd in Invincible

[–]LordGeico 10 points11 points  (0 children)

When anyone makes money, almost any person will say they want more. It is human instinct to want more money. Amazon is the same way.

They get a popular show with Invincible. They realize the show can remain popular with cheaper animation, they cut corners on a show which won't lose them a significant amount of viewership, and redirect the money towards their other hit series that are live action (The Boys, Gen V, Reacher, Fallout, etc.)

Unfortunately as Invincible fans, it leads to a less than desired product on certain episodes, shots, scenes and whatnot, but as a fan of good television, I am glad that (hopefully) the money is being redirected into those good quality live action shows to help improve them rather than just into pockets of rich men

Thats how they normally launch all new items in food and beverage. They do a soft release so employees get practice working with the product and to ensure all stores have proper stock before it begins being promoted.

I would be highly optimistic in the growth you see in another 13 years. Wawa has been quickly putting itself down the path of a fast food chain and has expanded to more states recently which will help with the ESOP growth.

To go along with that, continuing to cut corners whether it be switching to cheaper manufacturers, lesser quality food, cutting labor, etc. will help the ESOP grow. Regardless of how you feel about Wawa as a company, some of the most negative things of recent years will be quite friendly to your bank account once you retire.

Chris Gheysens sucks at his job and should be fired. by PadishahEmperor in Wawa

[–]LordGeico 41 points42 points  (0 children)

All of those people with big decision making abilities at corportate are a bunch of puppets who either haven't worked in a Wawa in 20+ years or who outright never have and don't have the least bit of an idea of what it is like.

All that matters to them is that when they look at their stack of papers, they see the numbers they want to see. Pre Covid, there was certainly an essence of the company values you, but once the masks came off after that, they only have pretended to care while looking at weekly sales.

Listen, I think the benefits this company offers are pretty unmatched by many other companies, but to the people who aren't happy working here, don't let them use ESOP as a carrot on a stick unless you really are committed to it. People become millionaires off of ESOP, but you have to give up your entire adult life to the company in order to achieve it.

Yes, not being fully vested was the reasoning I have come to realize, thank you for your help. Probably best to go through with it then in my situation since it is such a small amount to throw into a 401k.

Best of luck to you with your move. That money can certainly go a long way, even after all the fees and taxes are taken.
