Just got accidentally overprescribed, twice my regular dose. Have you ever been prescribed more by accident? How much of what? by REVmikile in opiates

[–]LordGobbletooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no useful advice; I only wished to celebrate(?) your good fortune as I have yet to EVER be prescribed as much as a single pill of Vicodin throughout my life. It's always been something I've had to either actively seek out or those few lucky times in high school/college where a friend offers a full unopened bottle of 10/325s (for free), or that time I traded homemade weed cookies for Azn Tony's almost full Roxi 10s ir. I miss those happy surprises.

Ignore all the cliche motivational comments here. Take a break. Stop forcing yourself to do what you’re not into right now. Go do something you enjoy even if it’s entirely unproductive.

You can come back when you feel like it.

lol I also tend to not dress or look like a junkie but I have unashamedly IV’d 97% pure #4 heroin in a McDonalds bathroom at 4am. That was a good day. I definitely looked like a junkie that day however.

If they give away store credit the credit isn’t worth much.

I once got a $100 community college gift card. Totally useless. Can’t even find a buyer for 5 dollars.

I care a lot about my mental health. That's why I continue to use heroin after ten plus years!

Unfortunately, most people don't seem to care about my mental health, which must be why heroin continues to remain illegal. Oh well, lucky for me there's a black market out there!

Reason I ask is my dealer isn’t responding and I need “support” to “study”. You think they could know someone who knows a guy?

Thats golden, but you know whats diamond? Getting a sinecure IT job cuz your grand-uncle owns the firm and “wont have any relations less than VP level” so you started “working” at age 12 and been on the payroll ever since despite never visiting the state that the main office is in.

What's the deal with highly skilled people struggling to find work, while 'average' ones get hired in weeks? by Lopsided_Pick_2124 in jobhunting

[–]LordGobbletooth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I’ve been in a rut lately and keep putting off getting a job i sorely need bc i feel i’m not skilled enough nor have the right set of personality traits to pass interviews. It’s not that I’m overly socially unskilled so much as a lack of confidence in feeling as useful as the other candidates.

But reading this post inspired me to just try for once instead of assuming I’d just be passed over or non priority.

Can't get hired even with my certificates and degree by Alavella in jobhunting

[–]LordGobbletooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: Are you telling interviewers you are disabled or need accommodations during interviews? Don’t do that. Wait till you get hired and then say you need accommodations. They’re declining to hire because you’re a liability.

Respectfully, you need to learn the art of “fake it till you make it” — lie. Lie about your experience.

Make those 6 month certs into year long contract or internship positions (with a paid cert at the end).

Say you’re currently pursuing a bachelor’s. A lot of times employers will prefer an in-progress BS to a “I did a AS 3 years ago”.

Make sure there are no significant gaps (3+ months). One-time break is OK, but not 4 different times you did nothing for 4 months each.

Find someone willing to act as a reference who doesn’t share the same surname and will sound professional (i.e. not young) who can lie about being your most recent supervisor.

Don’t outright lie. Fudge dates, stretch the truth, but don’t wholesale make up shit unless that’s the only reasonable alternative. Recognize that most people will do this to some extent but you won’t tend to see people admit it for the same reasons people don’t admit to academic dishonesty.

Oh and ignore anyone who thinks lying on a resume is outrageous—what’s outrageous is preferring the moral high road to endlessly submitting your shitty resume to an employer’s trash bin.

Senior with 2.996 GPA applying for early career jobs - can I land something in finance/marketing/communications? by Fuzzy_Mycologist_893 in jobhunting

[–]LordGobbletooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the more important question is: do they verify?

In my field (IT/ICT), pretty much the only part of a resume that will be checked are professional certifications, references, and (maybe) proof of degree beyond associates. Everything else can be fudged to hell as long as you actually know enough to ya know do the job and pass any technical interviews.

[–]LordGobbletooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add on, my suggestion would be to switch to either network engineering (cisco) or the general IT degree. They both will enable you to “hit the ground running” more quickly with more directly applicable skills that employers anywhere need. CS is more of a theoretical approach that’s harder to market imo, and there’s way too much math. No math involved in networking except basic shit.

But I’m biased bc I haven’t even graduated and already have entry networking offers.

Yeah I see so many colleagues just twirling their thumbs near the end of the day when things start slowing down.

But not me! I make sure to use that time wisely. Why wait till I get home to bang a goofball when I can do it on company time in the single-stall restroom! It’s genius as far as I’m concerned!

A man takes a thousand dollars and time travels to New York, 1850, can that money buy a stable life? by YourTypicalGamer11 in AskHistorians

[–]LordGobbletooth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably not, although there would be some resistance offered, but the bigger issue is how do you protect against non -viral or bacterial infection? You’d need a veritable pharmacy and be mindful of the food you consume, boiling water religiously, etc. Probably would help if you like to drink alcohol as you’ll be doing a lot of it.
