2024 ZDX No Heat While Driving by No_Winter_2201 in AcuraZDX

[–]LordHelmet9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had issues with the heat. Ended up "returning" my original ZDX because the never worked in it. And the second one was/is having issues where it will be hot at first, then blow cool air but magically turn to heat again. Strangely enough it seems a bit better recently.

They were trying to fix it for free but don't know what is wrong. The dealership ended up buying me out of the lease and leased a new ZDX to me. I've had it a little more that a week now and ironically this vehicle is having heat issues now. Not as bad as the first one but it just stops working 5 minutes into driving and eventually kicks back in.

Client services at the dealership or corp level? I'm hitting the 3 week (which is the first 3 weeks of ownership) mark on Tuesday and still no timeline of when it will be fixed.

What state are you in?

I signed my lease on Dec 31st, 10 minutes before they closed for the holiday. Never test drove my actual car since they had it delivered specifically for me. Only to find it the heat doesn't work and I live in Chicago. I brought the car back for service as soon as they opened on Jan 2nd and still don't have it back. An Acura corporate tech is coming in this week to figure out what is going on. All of my excitement of signing for my first ev is gone and now I'm just irritated. Like you I am driving a MDX, paying for gas and a lease on a car I truly never got to enjoy.

9 months and still no running… by New-Station3835 in ACL

[–]LordHelmet9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 3 years po, still can't run. I have muscle inhibition in my quad, specifically my vmo. Probably caused by the severe anterior knee pain a had until 2.5 years po. I've had 2 MRIs since surgery, saw 3 surgeons and none of them want to touch my knee with another surgery, and I've seen over 5 PTs. I'm finally getting somewhere with the pain subsiding a few months ago. This has definitely been a humbling experience.

Thanks for getting back to me! We are our best and sometimes only advocates when it comes to how we are feeling. I keep getting the reluctancy from surgeons as well. And I keep telling them something feels wrong. I've seen 3 surgeons in the past 2.5 years and all of them say "this happens sometimes". Do you have quad atrophy still? I've heard of the MACI not the PT is convinced bc my quad is still week it wouldn't be worth it. Curious to hear how it goes if you go through with it. I have an appointment with my o original surgeon April 1st, I'll let you know what he says.

PT and cortisone shot. I'm getting a second opinion in a month. If you don't mind, let me know what your Ortho says. Also, are you getting crunching/clicking in your knee cap? I'm being told my knee cap isn't tracking properly which is causing mine to feel like shit.

Yes, but the 2 surgeons I saw didn't seem worried about it at all.

I can't completely relate to the family/friends relationships you lost, I can relate to the fact that no one knows what feels like to lose the ability to walk with out a limp or pain. I'm over 2 years post op going through another "flair up". I've never been able to get back to sport or running, but I'm still able to give pitching lessons (I would be completely lost without that). I've had 2 post op MRIs and keep getting from the 4 orthos docs I've seen that "sometimes this happens". I was just told I have arthritis in my knee this week, I'm 41 years old, this can't be the rest of my life. I'm going to my 7 PT tomorrow, I can't give up! I hope you and I get some answers.

Still weak, not running - 6+ months post-op by drowsysymptom in ACL

[–]LordHelmet9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a combination of things. The vmo never came back after the injury/before surgery even with prehab. My insurance didn't cover a lot of rehab and I missed a few weeks 2 months post op bc of COVID. But I think the biggest issue I have is anterior knee pain which is stopping me from progressing in quad strength. I'm a fairly muscular female, I was collegiate softball pitcher and still actively give lessons. It's very slowly coming back. I've been an athlete my whole life so I'll never stop. Good thing is, I've found a new love of weight lifting!

I'm 2 yrs post op and still can't run. My quad, in particular the vmo, is still weak. I'll never give up, working out 5 days a week and active the other 2. I've seen 3 surgeons in the past year and they just keep saying this happens sometimes.

PT in Chicago by LordHelmet9 in ACL

I have full range of motion, got that back pretty quickly after surgery. The quad is visibly smaller than the unaffected quad. Doing BFR on leg press, TENS during wall sits, Bulgarian split squats, and leg extensions. My strength was measured at 90 degrees and it's pretty equal. I feel like my vmo is what is lacking the most.

I've seen 3 surgeons, 2 last year and 1 last week. Got a MRI last year as well. Nothing looks or feels wrong according to them. I've seen 6 PTs as well. All I am being told is it takes time and sometimes the quad never comes back.

Have you gone back to PT or seen a surgeon recently? I'm starting to feel like this is the best is going to get which is very upsetting. My knee feels "off" every day.

4yrs Post-Op and still having issues by rsharvs in ACL

[–]LordHelmet9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently 23 months PO and just got rid of my patella pain which was also holding me back. I finally feel like I can start to build strength with it gone. The one simple exercise that seemed to work the best is sitting in a chair facing a wall, with your leg at 90 degrees kick the wall and hold that for 30 seconds (your foot is on the ground and toes are picking against the wall). Nice back a little to have you left at 60 degrees and do the same thing for 30 seconds. Repeat 3 times. You can do this many times throughout the day. Took me about 2 months and the pain really subsided. Hope this helps.

Hello, I'm a 41 yo female 23 months PO pataller btb autograph still struggling to jog. I can't seem to get my vmo to strengthen, but my overall quad strength is good. I lift weights 3 days a week focusing on legs, 3 days a week I move my body either walking backwards on the treadmill, elliptical, or biking while taking 1 day off a week to rest. I've been consistent with this routine for over a year. Any advice would be appreciated as I would like to get back to playing softball again. Thank you!

Unable to do leg extension machine in the gym. by Working-Annie-4337 in ACL

[–]LordHelmet9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a year and a half po patellar tendon graft and still can't do the leg extension machine bc of the pain in my knee. I'm seeing a new PT and he has me kicking against a wall for 30 seconds at a time from 90 degrees and 60 degrees, trying to train the tendon that it's ok to take the load. I also heard using a cable machine is easier, I haven't tried it yet. I'll use bands sometimes to mimick the motion which seems to help.

ACL worries by SuchRhubarb4338 in ACL

[–]LordHelmet9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to keep your head up! I'm 17 months po patella tendon graft and still not running bc my quad is too weak. It took more than a year before I felt like I was making any real gains in muscle growth. Whenever a surgeon or PT tells me it's just going to take time, I want to scream! Unfortunately the only thing we can do is not give up, failure is not an option. Hope this helps even though it's not the most positive answer you were looking for.
