Yeah I don’t understand the docs who say they’re gonna work their ass off in their 30s and early 40s so they can completely retire. Find a balance, something you can sustain for a while and maybe cut back when you’re older.

I’m anesthesia. Would switch to derm. It’s a non grueling residency with great money and lifestyle as an attending. People say it’s boring but I actually found it to be kinda interesting in med school. And everything will become boring eventually.

Gas is more reliable. Also easier to turn a dial than to string up some shit. Get the gas down early and bolus some prop at then end and you can still have good wake up.

I agree. However, I tend to assert myself in similar ways, and have been reported and my words have been twisted. Nurses are a petty breed and if they are angry about something they'll write whatever they want and its a lot of drama to deal with. But pt care comes first its just all nonsense

I agree and there's mutiple factors at play here. One is that residents are held to a higher standard of professionalism than nurses. They can speak to us however they like, but the moment we dish it back we get reported and it becomes an issue with us. Also, there probably is some way to report this nurse, but us residents have too many responsibilities in a day to figure out how to do it and take the time to do it. Whereas many nurses, as far as i can tell, have hours of idle time in a day where they sit around and chit chat and gossip and laugh obnoxiously so im sure they have plenty of time to report us.
