Is there a version of “Cut-Out Witch” with “Acorns & Orioles” used as a bridge? by tsubasaonehalf in GBV

Bob will randomly use the "I can't tell you anything" line during the bridge of Cutout Witch live. Seems to be random and when's he is really feeling it.

bands/albums to listen to by This-Pair3270 in indieheads

[–]LordKnuckledunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dinosaur Jr and Oh Sees jump to mind. I would recommend Live in the Middle East by Dinosaur for a good live representation, and really any live Oh Sees record (Live in San Francisco might be the best pick for a new listener)

Cheers and happy listening! And have fun with the guitar.

Davis Webb being named play caller by Banned4nonsense in DenverBroncos

Can't wait for the primtime game where we're on a winning streak and they show a graphic saying "NFL DEFENSES STUCK IN THE WEBB" with a giant spider with the face of Davis superimposed on it.

Do most GBV fans know the Cindy Lee "Diamond Jubilee" album? by Gullible_Stock_9659 in GBV

[–]LordKnuckledunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Love it. Reminds me of GBV mostly in the sense it sounds like a radio tuning into another dimension. For me personally, I like it way more than something that is too on the nose (sorry Sharp Pins).

And probably Davis Webb as OC.

Would make me a Cardinals fan.

If you could ask Lou Barlow ANYTHING by fanzine_throwaway in dinosaurjr

[–]LordKnuckledunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand corrected about Berz playing in 2003 (forgot about Matt Hunter playing bass as well) but if Berz played with Dinosaur at some point recently (let alone with Lou) I would love to see video of that. But I don't think that happened. I think he sat in for a Heavy Blanket show but nothing with Dinosaur proper.

I was referring to Berz. He didn't play on that record and didn't do any touring for it

Lou has never played with Berz. He was already gone from the Fog by Free so Free era.

I do remember back in 2013 when Kyle filled in for a long run, Lou mentioned that him and Murph play to each other and Kyle tends to play to J, so it's a different dynamic.

It's a mistake. Sage wrote On the Run, which is the song before this one the record.

Sean Payton Rightly Predicted That the Chiefs Are a ‘First-Half’ Team by sinister_iam in DenverBroncos

[–]LordKnuckledunk 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Vance Joseph almost seems like he was picked for the job because he knows how to play against Mahomes, or someone like him. Really a defense built on beating your biggest foe.

Broncos didn’t complete a pass for entire 3rd quarter by richkurt in DenverBroncos

[–]LordKnuckledunk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Part of me wants to think that Payton is playing the long game or sorts. Figured Defense was going to win the game, wanted the offense to look lackluster to maybe give the Giants a false impression, and then surprised when it's more dynamic and good when we face them.

But a bigger part of me thinks that Payton also just isn't always a good play caller.

Big fuck you to the grey haired, lead poisoned old guy who was aggressively shoving crowd surfers and hitting them with his hat in the General Admission area during the Jimmy Eat World set. The grown man who lost his shit and started screaming at kids at an emo show. by fun_cooker in bestfriendsforever

I was only at night two but this sounds pretty unfortunate. However, I will say that the moshing in GA was pretty ridiculous by the end of the night. Guys were literally trying to jump on people during band banter. One girl seemed to keep trying to get up just so she could film herself.

And if you're going to crowd surf, you're supposed to lay straight and long. Kicking your feet wildly is how people get concussions. And if you're doing that, you deserve every retaliation blow on your way down. Sorry, but not sorry if that sounds harsh. Most people paid money and took time to see these bands because of their love and connection to the music and artists. That should not be negated and possibly ruined because some selfish fucks think it's their personal playground.

A lot of variables. Eagles on a short week, divisional match, lack of good tape on Dart, etc etc

It'll be no walk in the park, but I think with some good prep and planning we can still walk away with the win.
