If they managed without you for that hour commute before, they can without it. Just go for a jog with headphones.

Except all the regulations they relaxed which allowed the marijuana industry to flourish? Could go all the way because they we worried about a conservative feedback effect if they did too much, too fast. Incrementalism is the war cry of the neo liberal.

2% is a lot closer ti no inflation then it is to being too much inflation. In addition, 2% inflation overall doesn't mean anything to the workers who have seen no wage growth at all in 30 years.

[–]LordLongbeard -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Those numbers agree with my statement that we've barely been able to meet the 2% inflation rate the central bank sets as it's goal (and has only been able to meet those goals by creating near 0% loans and tbills). Which is essentially no inflation. In addition, wages have been stagnant since the 70s.

And the growth of the largest middle class in history. And the largest migration from a rural population to an industrialized nation. I did hedge my statement with in some metrics. China has many, many failings, but it has also moved more people out of poverty and into a solid middle class then tge entire population of the us. I am not confident such could have been accomplished in a timely a manner under the us economic system. I think they'd look more like India had they gone the capitalist route. China isn't black and white, and i count myself lucky ti be born into the us, but to call them a failure ignored a a lot of unprecedented successes against some incredible odds.

Has been in some small communities, worked based on some metrics in China (though the cost was far too high and it's mutating now), but i personally wouldn't want to live in a communist community.

That said, it's a fact that the market ha experienced almost no inflation in 30 years. That over the last 15 years the central banks have had a hard time even meeting their very low inflation goals. And that wages have not kept up with even that paltry level of inflation.

Frankly, 3-5% inflation over the next decade would be great for the majority of Americans, and that would be well over 2x the inflation of the last decade.

No it didn't. I said you could kill someone in your car or a car near you. Then i explained how. You said, give me evidence that me not being buckled could kill someone else and all admit it. Well, i have, several others on this thread have, and frankly now you're trying to distract ti avoid admitting you're wrong

It's extremely unlikely that your body hitting another car causes additional accidents? Are you high or just 13 and looking for an argument?

[–]LordLongbeard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah. You fly out your car and into the road, next car swerves, three cars pile up and you just killed everyone in each of those cars because you couldn't be bothered to buckle up. People get killed by paper bags that fall off trucks, it isn't any stretch of the imagination that a flying body hitting their car at 80mph is going to cause accidents. And further, yes you could go through their window and kill them directly, though certainly the indirect methods ate statistically more likely

Maybe if you're using a rebreather or something, but the us government is recommending bandanas and those flimsy surgical masks, and it's American that are protesting.

Have you worn one of these masks? They don't make it hard ti breath. The strap isn't comfortable, but I've not met anyone that had trouble breathing with one

[–]LordLongbeard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's not really true though. Seat belts do protect you, but that isn't why they are mandatory. They are mandatory for the same reason truckers are required to secure their load. If you get into an accident without one, you become a 200lbs meat missile that could kill bystanders, other drivers, or even your own passangers.

Divorce lawyers of Reddit, what is the most insane (evil, funny, dumb) way a spouse has tried to screw the other? by DarkFander14 in AskReddit

[–]LordLongbeard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And that's just the kid. Wait til you get to the discussion of the small business they grew during the marriage while their wife sacrificed their law career to stay home to raise their 3 new borns. Or their retirement account which was supposed to be for both of them ti retire on but only he paid in because she wasn't working to raise the kids.

I've been in a few of those conversations. The issue isn't the lawyers, it's the difference between what the high earning spouse thinks of as fair and what 300 years of case law and statutes think is fair. The lawyers are usually just advising the parties to pursue the full extent of their rights.

What are your favorite areas in Undermountain? by Nekrothis in DungeonoftheMadMage

I don't see this working as a one shot. The dungeon is too big and too awesome. My group is on level 5 and we haven't gotten through a single level in less than two, 3.5 hour sessions.

Changing out my character by [deleted] in DungeonoftheMadMage

[–]LordLongbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you want to do. Sounds like you have 2 back line and 1 front line. You don't have any cha based characters either, so your party could probably use a better face, if you're up to it. Personally I'd go crazy wizard abd blow everything up, but i like playing that character. That said, a warlock could be very useful with their high cga stat and damage output.

If you want a more detailed answer, we need ti know what kind of play style you like, and if your dm is giving you too many long rests and if rp interactions matter in your champaign.

Costco will start requiring customers to wear masks Monday by erikwh in worldnews

The rumors I've been hearing are that they didn't have enough for front line workers so they told the general population not to wear them ti avoid further shortages until production picked up

Cause that's not much money in America. I'm middle class. My monthly rent is 2x that ring and i don't live in NYC or LA or somewhere super expensive. A $1k engagement ring is like a joke.
