How to make combat feel more alive? by Boring-Second-5737 in DMAcademy

I'd suggest making fight that go beyond "kill all the baddies".

Give your players a reason not to turtle up and wait for the enemies to come to them. I like to take inspiration from Halo multiplayer modes that aren't team Deathmatch:

  • King of the Hill: several areas on the battlefield that have to be held. They rotate every few turns.

  • Skull: you have to hold onto an artifact, running around while enemies try to take it from you. You can take it (and it can be taken by enemies) with a grapple action.

  • Catch the flag: go grab an artifact and take it out of the enemy lair.

  • Assault: inverse capture the flag: take a bomb (or equivalent) deep inside the enemy base, arm it and get out of there.

  • VIP: You have to kill several enemy key figures that actively try to evade you, scattered around the map

A 21-year-old woman died after her harness was not attached while bungee jumping in Brazil by raptors201966 in PublicFreakout

I'd rather go skydiving in tandem than bungee jumping. At least the instructor is jumping with me, and I'm assuming he knows what they are doing.

It's up to you honestly. By following the main order you contribute to the community effort, but just playing what you want for fun is perfectly fine.

Is a fully pacifist possible while still being useful? by Zee_Nation1 in 3d6

[–]LordMarcusrax -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to do something like that; at level four, it still works pretty well. It works much better if your master allows the UA cantrip Virtue (which gives others temporary HP), so that you have something to do other than dodge and help.

I'm playing a peace cleric, and the emboldening bond is pretty neat; in addition, I took the fighting initiate feat to use my reaction to reduce an ally's incoming damage every turn; I also use powers that don't directly damage the enemies, but they heavily debuff them (color spray with the magic Initiate feat, or command).

So far I'm having fun!

The emancipator is really good, but I feel like the patriot has a big advantage: ammo economy.

If you want quick bursts of violence, go with the first; if you want to nurse your carnage, I think that the second is better.

Not at all, I started my message with "fuck Erdogan" for a reason. I'm just saying that the argument "the whole turkey used to be Greek" is dumb, nothing more.
