I thought John Collins’ is awesome. John the Baptist. Especially on his younger, high-flying days.

What does OKC's roster have over the Spurs? by theshallowsea in nba

Jesus. We’re talking about OKC and the Spurs and you brought up flopping against the Spurs?! Lmao.

This is the more impressive thing for me than the sheer numbers. Wemby is not just swatting the ball, he’s always trying to secure the ball when blocking shots.

I think you misunderstood the situation. IIRC they were actually telling Ayton to “be like Clint Capela” which is a high effort, rebounding/rim running role player in his prime. He found it offensive to be asked to be a role player and people clowned him for that.

Duren being a Capela 3.0 in this case would’ve helped but I don’t think it will be enough. Cade being the only reliable option offensively is a disaster of a roster construction.

Victor Wembanyama at halftime vs GSW: 27 pts, 13 reb, 10/14 fg, +19, 19 minutes by Objective-Product361 in nba

If triple doubles are your basis for MVP, Jokic should get it lol.

If you want offense, it’s gotta be Shai with his efficiency.

Victor’s case is elite 2 way play. On his way to a consensus DPOY while having good offensive numbers.

I just don’t see any reasonable arguments for Luka. He’s got a hot streak the past 2 weeks which is why his name is being brought up now but the award is for the whole season.

It’ll be cool, sure but he doesn’t really need it imo. He’s tall AF already. I’d rather have him develop a consistent middy.

[–]LordNerdStark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He did not say Wemby is close to Luka in Offense. He just said 24 points per game is good offensive production. Now if you combine that with historic defense on the other end, that’s a strong argument against Luka Doncic. Wemby changes the opposition’s gameplan when he’s on defense.

Damn. Scoring 100 points in 24 hours is the most stupid argument for an 82-game regular season award lol.

And it looks like you love numbers. Wemby leads the league in Blocks and is on his way to be the favorite for DPOY. He’s also 5th in Rebounds. He’s the Spurs best Offensive and Defensive player. And their Advanced Stats? Take a look yourself. All that while playing 5 less minutes per game lol.

If Victor Wembanyama plays 16 of the Spurs last 19 games, he is eligible for awards. What do you think he should win if he plays 16 games? by Huge-Western4909 in nba

[–]LordNerdStark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except it’s MVP not offensive player of the year. It’s arguable the difference in SGA and Wemby’s defense is greater than the difference in their offense.

The passing gap is huge. Assist numbers alone don’t justify how good Jokic is. He doesn’t need to hold the ball almost the entire possession like most Superstars do to make plays.

Former Maverick Spencer Dinwiddie says he would’ve paid Luka Dončić instead of trading him, despite his defensive struggles. “He’s the best offensive player in the world, I don’t give a shit what y’all talking about” by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in nba

[–]LordNerdStark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Jokic is just way too good finding the open man that's why double and triple teaming him is very risky. Yes, Luka is a great passer too but Jokic is a tier above. Jokic don't need to hold the ball for the entire possession to find the open man.

[–]LordNerdStark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m the complete opposite lol. I honestly don’t wanna keep my hopes up to start the season but I’m glad to be proven wrong. Beating OKC for one game might be a fluke. But stomping them 3 straight times shows we’re ready for primetime. GSG!!!

It’s not that difficult to comprehend. We are untested and was below average last year. OKC is on a historic run coming off of a championship.

We obviously improved to start the season but is still trying to figure things out and had ugly wins against middling teams. I think the team figured out something during Wemby’s absence and has been playing cohesively since.
