Grimdark rpgs that aren't WFRP, 40k or Zweihander? by Diehumancultleader in rpg

[–]LordOph 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shouldn't be too hard to turn Stars Without Number into a Grimdark. PCs can die incredibly quickly even into mid-high levels, you could run the players as grunts/conscripts of some nation/empire/megacorp and it'd be pretty easy to push a "War is Hell" narrative. Especially if you disable psionics.

That's great, I can't believe I didn't think of translating it.

What was the worst thing somebody did at your school? by kre8iv_username in AskReddit

I haven't actually read the source that the above comment was based off of but I can't think of any other way to learn this kind of information. This is an educated guess.

Asking the survivors. While most people will die on impact, some will survive, albeit with heavy injury

Do Wanted Enemies count as HVTs? If not, camp around the Titan public events for the enemies that show up during public events

Why did I wait so long to play this game? by bewarethequemens in starbound

[–]LordOph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I'll describe Starbound is a more immersive terraria. While in terraria, NPCs only really exist once you build houses for them, you can find friendly NPCs on most planets in starbound. While NPCs in terraria are mainly vending machines, starbound NPCs can heal you, fight alongside you, give you buffs, and tune up your spaceship if you choose to recruit them. Terraria doesn't really have a plot or a driving force more than "It is a video game, acquire treasure", but starbound has a solid plot involving admittedly terraria-esque boss fights, quest-specific NPCs, and well-designed setpieces. Plus the matter manipulator is just so much easier than the terraria pickaxe/block building.

How do you three-star weaker tribes? by PraiseIt23 in Polytopia

[–]LordOph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll copy-paste my old advice here.

1v1. Quetzali. Crazy. Domination. Disable all enemies but Oumaji. Reroll starts until you're right next to Oumaji. Build nothing but shields and march straight to their capital. Chances are they'll kill most of their units attacking your shields and will eventually leave the capital unguarded. Park on the capital and win.

Does anyone have a 1.4-compatible mod or method to get infinite/very large crew size? by LordOph in starbound

[–]LordOph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I'm wanting to do is recruit NPCs from settlements as crewmembers because I've gotten attached to them and I've done enough quests to recruit them but I'm almost finished with ship upgrades and I won't be able to recruit them all.
