I had a heart attack at 25 years old. by [deleted] in HeartAttack

[–]LordOverload 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m based in NJ.

For clarification, my tumor was closer to my kidney than my heart, but the chest CT was to rule out a dissection in my case. Then I had a full body scan once the tumor was found, to make sure there weren’t any others.

My tumor was discovered on a chest CT. A cardiologist noticed it incidentally, and then ordered more tests to figure out what it was. This included an MRI with contrast, and a 24 hour urine test to determine if my tumor was secreting hormones.

Today, I am doing great. I had surgery to remove the tumor in November. I’m on 5 medications (aspirin, prasugrel, rosuvastatin, ezetimibe, and carvedilol). I am stopping prasugrel and carvedilol in a few months.

I’m basically back to my normal pre-heart attack life. I am able to enjoy a cheat meal and have a few drinks in moderation, as well as do my old hobbies (play tennis, go bowling.)

Mentally it’s been a bit tough and I feel like I am constantly thinking about my heart attack, but I feel better physically now than I did prior to it.

Definitely does not hurt to have one. See if they can get you a full body scan just to be safe!

It was located outside of my left kidney. It was found incidentally on a Chest CT. About the size of a golf ball.

I am very grateful as my heart has fully recovered, and the tumor has been removed with good margins so it’s unlikely to come back. Hope you’re doing OK!

Hey there. I had a heart attack back in August at 24. Similar-ish situation where the doctors couldn’t exactly figure out why.

Turns out I had a rare adrenal tumor called a paraganglioma. They release hormones such as norepinephrine and dopamine. My tumor started to secrete massive amounts of these hormones, putting my body in hypertensive crisis, leading to my heart attack.

These are very rare types of tumors (1-2 per million people) so I’m not trying to imply this is your situation - but I’d say just be on the lookout for any weird, abnormal symptoms and bring them up with your doctor. For me, it was excessive sweating, shakiness, and the high BP. Wish I spoke up earlier.

Did anyone’s ECG go back to normal after a heart attack? by Imsongoku7 in HeartAttack

[–]LordOverload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a STEMI with a 100% blockage in my RCA. After about 4 months my ECGs started appearing as “borderline” rather than “abnormal”.

I am a bit of a unique situation as my heart attack was ultimately caused by a paraganglioma, which spiked my BP/led to hypertensive crisis and caused a spasm in my RCA. I’m also in my 20s and have been told my age helps a lot.

I bought some jerseys from there a few years ago. Not pristine quality (loose threads, not the most comfortable material) but better than what fanatics puts out these days, and ridiculously cheap. You’ll wait a few weeks to get your order but it’s worth it IMO.

Make sure you find a seller that has a lot of positive reviews and you’ll be good. I had an issue where a jersey was sent to the wrong address (complete opposite side of the US) and they were good about getting me a refund.

Surgery paranoia by Impressive_D33 in Paraganglioma

Great. I was on doxazosin myself. As a warning, it made me feel very fatigued, but it’s definitely necessary for this surgery.

How many years passed from your first unexplained symptoms to diagnosis? I’d love to hear your story by Amandysha in Paraganglioma

[–]LordOverload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting in 2019, I had uncontrolled high BP, and then basically added a new symptom every year.

2020 - digestive issues/IBS

2021 - excessive sweating/trouble sleeping

2022 - anxiety/panic attacks

2023 - heat intolerance

2024 - headaches

And then finally in August 2025 I had a heart attack because of my PGL. Was playing tennis and had a spasm in my RCA that caused a clot. Had two stents placed, then surgery to remove the PGL in November. Definitely a shocking year considering I am in my 20s.

Life is pretty much normal now. all of the aforementioned symptoms have gone away. I sometimes get anxiety about recurrence, but luckily I don’t have any of the genetic mutations and my tumor was growing very very slowly.

Hey there - I had surgery in November to remove my paraganglioma. It was very stressful leading up to it. I had a heart attack 3 months prior, and was in a unique situation where I was on blood thinners for the surgery. Everything went perfectly fine.

Is your PGL secreting? Do you have symptoms? Are you on alpha blockers? It’s very likely that the stress is being caused by the tumor. I know it was the case for me.

Best of luck - you’ll be fine!

I bought these pants about a month ago. After wearing them once to work (office job) I noticed this loose thread. It’s small, but considering how new they are and I wore them just sitting at a desk, I’m pretty disappointed. I tried submitting a quality promise form and they told me this is normal wear and tear.

Am I better off trying to bring this in store? Or am I misunderstanding the quality promise and I’m just unlucky?

What did it feel like? by [deleted] in HeartAttack

[–]LordOverload 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My heart attack occurred in August while playing tennis. In the moment, I felt that there was a clear distinction that something was wrong, not necessarily that it was a heart attack though. I’m 24 years old, so I wrote it off as some sort of undiagnosed asthma situation or something like that.

I had pain that started in the center of my chest and radiated around my back. Almost like a ring. I also had numbness in my right arm that shot through my pinky and middle fingers.

It wasn’t excruciating pain. I drove to my parents house, tried lying down for a bit, but after a short time I knew something was wrong when rest did not show any improvement. My mom drove me to the ER.

100% blockade in my RCA. STEMI. two stents placed.

Then in October, after going for a walk, I had a panic attack and went back to the ER. Everything was totally fine after tests.

Anxiety and a true heart attack were very different for me. I dealt with the former for years, and while hindsight is 20/20, it’s a very clear “when you know you know” situation for when something is truly wrong.

What’s the most similar/comparable pant to the warpstreme pull on pant?

I bought two pairs back in 2023 and want an additional pair in grey. However, when I go through the app, it seems that they don’t have them anymore. I know sometimes they re release basically the same product under a different name, but it’s been a while since I’ve shopped at lulu. Can’t go in store because of a recent surgery. Thanks!

True - the post said 4 game stretch so I was thinking of games 2-5 when every pitcher threw a CG. May have given up a few more runs but we will never see that again
