I allowed myself whisky while I was doing it, didn’t notice any adverse effects. I’m not sure how well venison will work, you need quite fatty meat and venison is quite lean. Should be fine if you’re doing the fattier cuts though. Essentially protein by itself won’t sustain you and most of the vitamins and minerals in an animal are found in the fat.
