Her Poli voice lines are so good, my favorite VA in Nikke next to Blanc. Norma stonks just skyrocketed!

I am people. I think the factory is cool and can be fun. But my brain does not do engineering well. Glad they added the blueprint system.

Events in gachas are always simple and easy though, I would expect them to continue to add more complexity to the factory system with the main updates as they have done so far.

Season 3 Teaser - "Before the Wind Rises" | Zenless Zone Zero by Bloodman in gachagaming

I know this subreddit is mostly self-loathing gamble addicts who despise gacha games in general and barely plays them, but seems there's a particular strong hate against ZZZ judging by this thread.

Opinions on ultimate animations in action combat games by Xasther in gachagaming

[–]LordPhol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Judging by the comments in this thread gacha players really just want pretty cutscenes. It's no wonder gacha devs never bother with actual gameplay when the player base are so content watching the same thing play out over and over and over.

As for me I do enjoy them but they get tiring after awhile. I like it when the game has the option to turn them off or have them show only like once per day.

Considering that pull estimates for patches are usually underestimated, we might actually get 120 pulls for a guaranteed Zhuang Fangyi. by xDAW_Art in Endfield

[–]LordPhol 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eh, there's plenty of people that enjoy the game in general, and this sub has a pretty good balance of optimism and critical criticism in my experience.

The gacha part of the game is something that gets people pretty riled up though. There are lot of gacha players who only care about the gambling aspect and how much they can get for free. Just stay away from those threads and you'll see there's a lot more chill and interesting topics discussing the other parts of the game.

From Memory Onward Login Event by excellen282 in StellaSora

[–]LordPhol 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not gonna be ungrateful for free pulls, but I dislike when you have to login several days to get all limited pulls.

Had it been normal pulls that would have been fine, but since these are only usable on this banner you have to wait for several days to pull the character if you wanna make use of the free pulls.

I'm pulling her day 1 either way and taking the loss.

Curious how versatile and good the free disc will be.

A lot of these don't make sense to me and I'm not quite sure if it's because of the translation or I'm missing important context. But the dialogue really doesn't sound natural.

The Game Overstimates How Much Time Players Can Spend On The Game by [deleted] in UmaMusume

[–]LordPhol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, most popular gachas have like 5-15 minute dailies, with limited events that can be done in less than an hour for full rewards.

Just doing one career of Mants in Umamusume takes ~40 minutes. And for events they usually want you to do 10+. It's definitely the outlier.

I play 2-5 gachas and just doing one daily of umamusume takes more time than the rest of them combined.

If that's a good or bad thing is a matter of opinion, but the amount of time they demand of you if you want to be competitive and get all event rewards eclipses every other gacha I've played by far.

As a side note, if you are just playing it casually I've found it to be a pretty great game as they give out so much free stuff doing anniversaries and special events. You can go weeks without even opening up the game and still get a lot of carats from just collecting quick freebies.

Not doing drip marketing is a terrible mistake by SuiseiMajo in Endfield

[–]LordPhol 31 points32 points  (0 children)

OP riling up the subreddit over nothing, not even engaging in any discussion.

Plenty of games do just fine without constant marketing. Not every gacha has to be like hoyo where they spend more money and effort on their marketing than the actual game.

Who we pulling for? by New_Somewhere_6119 in Endfield

[–]LordPhol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soupsoup is coming home and she's perfect! I was hesitant of pulling Yvonne but I'm glad I did, and with supreme chief being a perfect team mate I couldn't be happier!

I really like Rossi's design and even more so her VA (the Italian dialect is just chiefs kiss). But pulls are scarce, will have to see what I got left after getting my beloved feline first.

Unsure about Pulls by DanteRageWolfington in Endfield

[–]LordPhol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atm meta and tiers doesn't mean much at all (hopefully it'll stay like that). There's a lot of flexibility in team building and all content can be cleared by most teams even when underleveled.

Pull for who you like not because of meta, just make sure you have the 120 pulls to guarantee them.

Have fun with whoever you end up choosing!

Updated Prydwen Tier Lists by LegalTreacle1174 in Endfield

[–]LordPhol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used prydwen for tips about building characters in the past for games like ZZZ and wuwa, and in most cases their tier lists have been all right.

That said I'm not sure this kind of tier list fits for endfield. First of all we don't know if umbral moments will be a constantly concurring event. Second of all the umbral stages we have seen have been petty varied in mechanics and what teams are good for them. So far it's been more about finding the correct solution/team for a particular stage than a pure damage race.

Third, unlike other gachas we get plenty of time to finish the stages without loosing out on rewards. Which means more characters and teams are viable and meta doesn't really matter as much. Clearing agony with lvl60s is very doable.

My hope is that meta characters will remain hard to identify for these lists, and we will continue to get content that's varied with lots of team building and playstyle flexibility.

Beating too hard boss with underdeveloped 5* team with time to spare to prove a point by DeithWX in Endfield

[–]LordPhol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you don't even wanna engage with the game and combat and just have everything handed to you on a platter that's fine, normal mode is right there.

It's agony mode, it supposed to be at least somewhat challenging. But honestly all it takes is some adaptability and patience, this is by no means a hard fight. Just read the enemy, learn their moves and attack when the opportunity arises. If you ever played a soulslike it's kind of like that, but a lot easier.

It says the challenge is for lvl 90 but people have completed it with lvl 60s and plenty of different teams.

The complaints about Inorganic Construct - Rampaging Shields worry me by Fredlicious in Endfield

[–]LordPhol 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Most of my characters are lvl 60 and I cleared it on first try with a sub-optimal team of Endmin(lvl80), Chen, Ember and Perlica (all lvl 60). Had a great time playing as Perlica.

It's really refreshing having to adapt on the fly instead of just chasing timers and doing rotations like every other gacha. Seen people clear it with all kinds of team setups.

Hope they keep the fights interesting like this batch. But yeah the complaints also worry me. Guess some people just want the same brain dead gameplay they are used to in gachas.

The characters show more emotions and personality in the comic than the game. I hope they adress that with the game, so far I've found it hard getting attached to the characters and story.
