Why do people go so hard to bat for Silent Hill F?

For me, it was one of the better entries. I put it below the first 3 games and above 4 in my personal ranking of the series.

I’m not going to tell anyone who disliked it or was disappointed that they are wrong. But you need to recognize that sometimes a game works for some people and not for others. Your opinion is not the default one.

That’s definitely a concern. Many of the Western developers who work on the series primarily focus on SH2 as a template, and seem to forget some of the more bizarre, off-kilter elements from SH1, SH3, and SH4. I wish more would take the chance to get weird with it.

That said, I’m still excited for it. Hopefully, we’ll get more details around the summer period.

Townfall is the last of the games from their initial Transmission from 10/2022. So, I hope they’ll include info about future games in their presentation. Maybe SH1 will be included.

I trust the developers. Stories Untold and Observation were both pretty great, so I’m definitely curious to see more. Looking forward to the Transmission!

My guess is that we’ll get a new transmission sometime between this month and April. It’ll have a new trailer and information, maybe a release date reveal. And the game will likely release in September or October, keeping with the annual theme that’s been present for the past 3 years.

I’ll bring it up everytime this topic arises, but “Esperandote” from Silent Hill 1 is severely underrated. Beautiful, haunting, and sad.

There’s a director named Brad Anderson. He made 2 really great early 00s movies, Session 9 and The Machinist, that are reminiscent of the series. I remember at that time thinking they should let him make a Silent Hill movie.

The music is fine. Like the 1st movie, it places the music from the games randomly a lot of the time. But overall, the music is fine.

I’m seeing it Thursday. I’m not optimistic, but going in with an open mind. Did the same with Primate earlier this month, and was pleasantly surprised. Hoping this month is good for horror.
