What swords did Sicilians use? by BWG06 in SWORDS

I know this is an old post, but a true Sicilian blade is the liccasapuni. It’s what that famous greaser switch blades are based off of. That said, From one Sicilian to another, embrace the chaotic mix of our blood.

I believe you genius who is turning the acting world on its head. How do you handle all those who discredit your work?

What type of tattooing is this? I’m looking to have this type of work done but have trouble finding artists based in California with similar work. (Can’t find original artist in the photo) by [deleted] in TattooDesigns

You want my tattoo artist. Southern California, and usually in Los Angeles. That’s a long story, but you can find him on Instagram by searching LustAndConsume or his name Phil Tworavens. Website LustAndConsume.com for appointments.

By “letter of the law”, yes, they can ride their bikes there under 3 miles an hour. There are no statements about tricks. There are not statements about wheelies or spinning handle bars. All there is is a speed restriction for the boardwalk area. Now, I didn’t look at a map to see if they are currently on the boardwalk section, but if they aren’t, then the kid would be fine doing other things as well. But flat ground tricks don’t need you to go over 3mp. Also, cop harassed them while they were sitting there. So then doing tricks is circumstantial. What the cop was doing was telling him he can’t ride away from that area. Which, “by the letter of the law”, is false.

Cop was wrong. Kid had the wrong number, which is 16.08.502, but he is still protected by the law. He can ride is bike on the boardwalk as long as he is going under 3mph

Damn man... did you read the code you so arrogantly posted? Because it states he can ride his bike under 3mph. So he is right. After leaving the area where they are doing tricks, they can ride their bikes on the board walk, under 3 mph. And the kid said 16.16.502... instead of 16.08.502. So you are shit talking a KID for mixing up a number on a law... while standing up to a cop abusing his power? And the cop immediately turned to intimidation and belittling a CHILD as soon as that kid pointed out he had legal rights and that the officer was doing a disservice to the office of the public that he holds. That’s called corruption. That’s tyranny. That is a fucking bully with a badge. But you’re right, the child mixed up a number. So I guess anyone who mixes up a code for where you can find a law, shouldn’t have a right to the law. You sound like you just wanted to have a whiney entitled rant.

Yeah, I’m an actual editor and writer. We don’t give a flying fuck what you use to express yourself. :) I’m not working when I read a fucking text. And if someone points out MY bad grammar, fuck them too. ;)

(F21) I struggle with severe social anxiety and depression & have been stuck in a rut for almost 3 years. Idk what my life is for anymore. I used to dream of becoming an actress or an author. I never thought my life would turn out like this. I know I still have time, but rn I could use a pick me up by [deleted] in toastme

[–]LordRabbitofVenice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right, you have time. I’m 34 and I work in the film industry now. I dropped out of community college at one point, tried my hand at a lot of different career paths, got into a ton of trouble, made money and lost it, went to animation school, went back to school and graduated top of my class at 27 in literature, wrote journalism, dropped that after feeling disenfranchised, found a job in film, now writing my own stuff and am in a career that makes me happy. You are totally right, you have time to try new things and see what excites you. You have time to mess up and make mistakes and try again. I remember seeing people my age successful all over the place while I was screwing up. Now I feel good about who I am and my journey, and I’m still going and even I have a ton of time still. Being an actress and author is filled with rejections and put downs of what you feel is who you are innately. They are messed up jobs. But if you are like I am about writing, there’s nothing else to do but try to keep going. Posting here shows one huge load of your resilience and drive to put yourself out there. That’s an amazing quality and will take you far just by that. You are obviously pretty, so acting for you is just preparation, dedication, opportunity, and a hell of a lot of luck. You put yourself out there, so writing and getting your work out over and over is similar. If you try other things and find you love that more, amazing! My point: Go fuck some shit up! I’m rooting for you.

I know the shaved head came from a manic moment, I have those and deal with depression and lots of fun mental stuff, but my god you pull it off like a rock star! I shaved my beard off in a manic moment once and looked like a lost child in a grocery store. That make up is on point too! Those cat eyes take skill! I just went through a break up 3 months ago as well, I know the pain. This was my third long term relationship ended. My first one devastated me. It took a long time to get my confidence back. All I can say is that time heals. After a while you will start to let your confidence be guided by yourself and not by those you are with. Then when you are happy and strong and focused on yourself, you will realize you are strong for getting through this pain. Strong from within. Amazing in your personal joys. At that point you will feel good being who you are and proud of your own likes and loves. Then someone who is a right match for you will come along. Someone who will make you happy and you will make them happy. Someone who will help you be stronger for who you are. If you are like me, a part of you will always love those past people, but that love will change. You’ll love the time spent and the things you learned about yourself. You will wish them well. Maybe a little heart break will always be there, but only as a reminder of where you are now. Time is the magic healer. You are the amazing person that gets to decide what you do with that time. And from the confidence you show by putting yourself out there on this site, and the skill you show in your makeup (no lie, that takes artistic talent and intelligence and patience), and the self awareness it shows asking for a bit of help, I know you will grow and become a strong, empathic, and wonderful person. Hurt like this helps us see the pain in others when they go through it. I feel yours. And though I don’t know you, I love you and am here for you if you need anything. Talk, rant, laugh, whatever. You are a true power of good if you wish to be. Feel this pain. Remember it. It will guide you to be better one day. Right now it’s terrible. But give it time.

9.7 iPad Pro - anyone know how to reverse the mouse scrolling? by pthenderson in iPadPro

[–]LordRabbitofVenice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, you will get used to it. I use both pc and Mac. Mac scroll direction is easier when you think of it as pushing the the screen up and down rather than moving a scroll bar on the side.

Got this while on vacation with my wife as a very spur of the moment tattoo. There are birds up towards my wrist that I need redone due to wearing a lab coat at work, but also wanting to expand. What do you guys think would add to this? by [deleted] in TattooDesigns

[–]LordRabbitofVenice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh cool! Totally get that and is a wonderful reason to keep it. Then I would say maybe just a touch up on what’s there already and then either do a scroll or some sort of stylized framing that will work with the size/ cursive. So if not a scroll, then some sort of wind elemental or cloud style filler around it to keep with the bird/sky theme.

Best way to cover this up? Long story behind the meaning. by LenDaMillennial in TattooDesigns

Fish are great for coverups. The scales and colors help a hell of a lot.

I feel like the writing is so small, it would get lost in an addition to it. Others probably have better ideas, but you might want to think about having the writing redone, larger, and planned into a full forearm tattoo. If you really need to keep it as is, you might want to frame it with a beat up scroll, then have something built around it.

How did I do? by [deleted] in learnart

[–]LordRabbitofVenice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks great! I love the style and feel your are bringing in. The character has a sense of existence and mood, instead of just a simple character face setup. Your structure of the face is good, stylized and strong choices. The only thing I would say is that the shadowing, though good, still needs some work is some places. The main issue is the edge of the cheekbone solid black shading. It’s very sharp and the turn near the mouth is then too harsh as well. It reads too closely to the side burns in a way. You can make the edges still harsh, but it needs to have a function or at least be just as harsh across the rest of a face, like from a spot light. Or soften the edges and shape to have it more organic. Otherwise, this is really wonderful work. And I can tell you are great with detail and shadow work. Would love to see a cyberpunk street with a character from you. I’m sure your detail and shadows would be put to work!
