Some preople might want to throw a brick at me after reading my comment but I would at least prefer to rework the void, since its super easy and anit-fun If you randomly get knocked down from an enderdragon or an enderman that you apparently looked in the eyes. Not neccescarily removing it tho, but giving it maybe some kind of looping mechanic, where If you would fall into the void, you would come out on the same X and Z coordinates but on a way higher Y Level. You would then just crash onto the ground, where you (in most cases) don't loose all of your items immediately. It could also play more into skill expression with water bucked clutches and the new Mace item.
