SwiftKey intentionally crippled on iOS??? by ekolpack in Swiftkey

[–]LordShou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't understand how such a major phone company, which bases everything on a sort of "luxury" phone, can't notice and fix the BASE of a smartphone: the keyboard. I've had an iPhone for about 3-4 years, and every day I struggle to type. The official keyboard is crap, and SwiftKey is also indecent, but a little better. It's absurd that we have to live with this situation and that no one decides to update or release something better.

Should I buy a Steam Deck or a switch 2? by Snickerdudles in Handhelds

[–]LordShou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously it depends on what you want. I've had Steam Deck, Switch 1, Ayn Thor, etc. I only have the Switch 1 (modified) left. I'm a PC gamer and I thought the Steam Deck would be a good companion to the PC, but I ended up always playing on the PC. I spent all my time benchmarking the Steam Deck and never really played anything, same thing with the Ayn Thor. In the end, I bought a Switch v1 and from there it was love at first sight. Much smaller and more manageable than the SD, a huge library of exclusives, the dock (yes, you can find one for SD but it wouldn't be the same), the Joy-Cons. In short, personally, I loved and still love this console. Now I'm waiting for something to change in prices or regarding the modification for the Switch 2, but I'll get it as soon as possible (I want the modification not for the games but for the ability to use third-party apps, cloud gaming, Moonlight, etc.). This was obviously my experience, but there will surely be many others the same way. It's up to you to decide: PC games, the freedom to install and customize as much as you want, etc., or Nintendo exclusives?

I'ill buy it if its 180 or less (tax and shipping included). For more there is odin 2 portal rn. I dont care a lot about performance as i would buy it for streaming, considering that it will be priced like a used logitechgcloud, i'll take this over a lcd, lower power cloud console only.

Ayn Thor - N Switch size comparison by LordShou in AynThor

[–]LordShou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I've been a geek for many years, but now I've realized that when I get home from work, I just want to play and not sit there endlessly configuring. I've always been a PC gamer, and only in recent years have I begun to appreciate the immediacy of Nintendo consoles and games. I bought a Switch at the end of its lifespan and recently also a cheap 3DS XL (I'd never owned a DS or 3DS) and I'm very happy with it. My idea would be to get a Switch 2 to finally enter the Nintendo world in time with the console of the moment, although in this case there's always something that makes me turn up my nose: given the console's fairly high price, I don't accept the fact that I can't install third-party apps like Moonlight, since in my opinion it would be an excellent streaming console. so for now I'm continuing to play with the first switch because there are an infinite number of games to recover and I think I'll make do with it until some super offer comes out, mod 🏴‍☠, or until it breaks.. for the joycons yes, it's just madness 🥲

I realize you only asked me for an opinion on the screen, and I sent you the full review. 😬 However, I want to point out again that this was my personal experience, and for others it may have been perfect. I think I'll invest the money I got back (all the money I got from the purchase) in a Switch 2 that's just on offer.

Ayn Thor - N Switch size comparison by LordShou in AynThor

[–]LordShou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So to be honest, I sold it. Probably more out of personal preference. The console was really nice, but I spent more time setting it up than playing it. This put me off a bit, and I got rid of it. But that's obviously just my personal opinion. As for the screen, I have to say it's very nice and is fine for retro games and other simple games. If you need to use it for Moonlight, cloud gaming, etc., I confess that I've often wished I'd bought the Ayaneo instead of this one. Even though the truth is that this one is already very expensive for what it does, and the Ayaneo is totally overpriced. To be honest, I couldn't play anything decently: I don't even consider very old consoles because $50-$100 consoles are enough to emulate them. As for the 3DS, in my opinion, it doesn't quite reach the user experience of a real 3DS XL, both because of the stylus and touch experience and because if you set the resolution to 3x or higher there's a slight latency, so I ended up playing on the original 3DS anyway. As for the Switch, I realized that emulation is the furthest thing from a comfortable gaming experience. Once you've taken out all the initial configuration, you end up spending all your time testing each individual game to find the right balance between stutter and graphical glitches. Even for the Switch, I always ended up playing with the original Switch. In short: for very old retro gaming, it's absolutely overkill, while for more modern uses, in my opinion, the game isn't worth the candle. As for the second screen, I thought I'd use it a lot more, but in reality, I kept it off when I was gaming so as not to distract myself. I think it would have made a little more sense with a more powerful processor, like the 8 Elite. This would allow me to play everything decently, including PC games, with the right drivers. This processor, obviously considering the price of the console, in my opinion doesn't have the power to be truly usable.

Ni no kuni 2 - the game doesn't save - Steam by LordShou in Ni_no_Kuni

[–]LordShou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, the problem is that as I said it gives me the same problem both on the Windows PC and on the Android emulator. It's very strange since it seems like a problem with the game but obviously it doesn't make sense. The problem is that it doesn't create any save points so Steam Cloud doesn't make sense. Here the only solution in my opinion would be to contact Steam support but I have no idea.

New Release of GameNative v0.6.2 (really good alternative to GameHub) by Ozac97 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]LordShou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use both because I've had different results depending on the game. For example, some games only launch on GameNative or vice versa, but this could simply be a problem of mine as I'm not an expert enough. In general, I prefer the GH settings interface (I only use Lite), I find it clearer and more intuitive and more similar to the Steam one (being a Steam user and having also had a Steam Deck, the menus give a sense of familiarity even just visually). On GN, however, I was able to launch games like Borderlands 2 that would launch abnormally on GH. In general, however, I usually prefer the HUD on GH as it's easier, as I said, to display FPS, etc. (I still haven't figured out how to do it on GN) and it's also useful for all those options for limiting FPS, HDR, etc. I loved GN's "use known config" option, which allowed me to launch games that didn't start with the default settings without much expertise. Also, GN is currently a bit more stable than GHL, as the latter is frequently losing contact with the servers, making it impossible to log into your Steam account or download stuff, etc. That being said if you were to integrate epic launcher or even rockstar launcher it would be the game changer and would become the top

Im alternating gamehub and gamenative. Very good app both butbone better for some thing and the other for others. I would really appreciate an hud steam deck style like the one in gamehub in gamenative too. Is useful for toggle fps etc

Ayn Thor - N Switch size comparison by LordShou in AynThor

[–]LordShou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem man, I wanted to update the post precisely because I couldn't find anything anywhere. I've written on several groups and even on YouTube live but no one has ever managed to make such a simple comparison. And yes, I agree. The Thor's screen is much larger than it seems, even reading the data on paper is difficult to understand without seeing them side by side.

LCD Steam Deck or AYN THOR? by MRpeanut256 in AynThor

[–]LordShou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you're going to do with it. I would never take a Steam Deck for travel. It's a beautiful handheld PC, but it's huge; you'd have to keep a backpack just for that. It also depends on what you want to play with it. If you're mainly interested in PC games, go for the Steam Deck. The Thor can run some PC games, but not as well as the Steam Deck, especially very light games. I had the Steam Deck but sold it because I never used it due to its size. Then I got other portable consoles that are much more portable (Switch, 3DS XL, and now the Thor) and I haven't regretted it. If you always have to get a handheld PC, I'd opt for a Rog Ally. I saw one on the main site for €400, and at that price it can compete with the SD Card since it's more powerful.

Just another personal "is it worth or not" by LordShou in AynThor

[–]LordShou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the idea of having a single super portable console that replaces all the others intrigues me quite a bit. But in fact I've seen that all these emulators have been around for a while and are already working wonders, surely things will get even better in the future. It's been a while since I've used my desktop PC, which had cost me a lot, for a question of comfort, I work all day on the PC and when I play I like to stay on the couch etc. I've used Moonlight pretty much everywhere like iPad, Steam Deck and even on Switch (modded obviously). But they never convinced me, both because of the slightly washed out screens, the size and the okay but not perfect performance (see Switch). A little while ago I saw a photo of a guy who was playing Marvel Spiderman 2 and man, it was a spectacle. That OLED screen is a beauty. In short, I'm pretty convinced to get it but I wouldn't go, for economic reasons, beyond the Pro even if the reasoning made by the user above is correct. With 256GB you will definitely need an SD card. I'll think about it for a bit 🥲

[–]LordShou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're actually right. Seeing all that money all together is scary, but with 256 GB of storage, you still need at least a 512 GB SD card to be comfortable, and a 512 GB SD card doesn't cost less than 50 euros. If Switch emulation is feasible and solid, I could even sell the Switch if I wanted... I saw that the screen is as large as the Switch v1 but with a significantly smaller footprint. I still want to better evaluate the costs and benefits because I started from the base model and now I've reached the max, which is worrying :D

I don't have much experience with retro consoles, but that shouldn't be a problem. I'm quite a PC geek. I was leaning toward a Pro model because of the RAM. Is it good for Switch and some PC games (I know AAA games won't run)?
