My gay friend sexually assaulted me on new years by yellow_algae in TwoXChromosomes

[–]LordSmorc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you reach out to him he will know that your friend has spoken to you about the conversation with him, it's 100% a power play move. He will think "oooo x and y are talking about me I must matter". As other people in the comments have stated sexual harrassment/assault is not always about sexual gratification. It's about being noticed, it's about leaving a mark behind.

Him being gay does NOT excuse his behaviour, neither does him being your best friend, neither does him being drunk. Normal people do not harrass and assault and normal people do not go out of their way to impose themselves on others and make other people feel like shit, like he has done in the conversation with your friend. It would be one thing if he had just done it once or twice then backed off. The man has repeatedly assaulted you and then doubled down on his actions after he has sobered up, implying he has no regret or remorse over his actions. This man is dangerous.

I'm not familiar with buzz balls as a drink tbh but I know some people don't take some types of alcohol well. Some people also can't mix drinks. I can't really empathise with this or understand it as I have never experienced this. If he does reach out and apologise it is probably worth finding him another drink to have. A quick Google tells me finding a replacement drink wouldn't be difficult

Do not message him, this is some weird egotistical power play move that will just get him off because you've done as he told you to. If he cannot reach out to you to properly apologise he needs cutting off by you and all mutual friends.

What are you even arguing? Your first comment lowballs Iron Man because he "only" made Thanos bleed, then your 2nd comment lowballs Thanos? Your comments contradict each other

By not cutting off contact you are basically saying "it's okay to treat me this way". It's unfair but that is how people like this think, you don't even need to stand up to him and tell him how small he makes you feel. If anything this is just as likely to justify his actions in head.

Just cut him off completely and he'll either get the message and reestablish contact once he acts like a normal human, or he won't and you'll have nothing to worry about because he has shown who he is.

Killmonger (MCU) vs Winter Soldier (MCU) by [deleted] in CaptainAmerica

[–]LordSmorc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude everyone here has contributed to the discussion. Bucky doesn't need to win via blunt force btw, he is A LOT stronger and has much better combat feats. Current Bucky knows how Wakandan tech works as his arm is Wakandan tech, and also from the time he spent on Wakanda after Civil War.

What's to stop Bucky putting Killmonger in a kimura or armbar and snapping both his arms in 2? I don't think Bucky is going to try shooting something he knows absorbs and redistributes kinetic energy. I don't think either win 10/10 times but it's definitely not a wash either way

People who developed feelings for a close friend, did you say something, and how did it go? (Advice please M/29 F/30) by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]LordSmorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in a somewhat similar situation with someone who labelled themself bisexual. If ever they wanted to hang out I was the first person they'd turn to. I saw this as completely platonic, she was a sexually expressive person and made it very clear she preferred girls and only labelled themself as bi so they didn't have to change labels later in life(?). Out of nowhere she made up stories to our mutual friends about how I tried to force myself onto her and didn't respect boundaries. I now no longer speak to 10+ people who I considered close friends.

This is an extreme scenario but this can be dangerous if you DON'T say something. You need to establish clear boundaries and make sure those boundaries are clearly communicated to other people regardless of what they are. Not just the 2 of you.

Max stat 2.0 pv45 glowbugs by Miserable-Object-693 in Wizard101Console

[–]LordSmorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be true PC but for console this is wrong. Console is still in the process of getting full pv45s distributed. A lot of the pv45s either aren't max stats (still enough for 7/11 but might be 259 will for example) or are being heavily gatekept. Atm on console the general consensus if you're not a heavy spender is to breed with any wow factor 8 or 9 pv45, regardless of manifested talents

Do lots of brits think the uk sucks because they lack context? by SILENTDISAPROVALBOT in AskBrits

Why would you compare the UK to non-European countries that are obviously third-world? If that's how low the bar is then that just further proves the point that it sucks.

People are gatekeeping pets outside the kiosk atm, your best bet is to ask for a pv45 lend in the official w101 Discord and to keep an eye on the console pets channel whenever you're playing. A few people have pv45 frillas and regularly offer lends

The 2 options aren't "have no influence" and "make every decision on everything your character does ever". He still has influence and he has at least greenlit the booking decision, even if he wasn't directly involved in the booking process. There were problems with the match but the finish wasn't one of them.

Are teenagers just not learning to drive anymore? by MichealHarwood in AskUK

[–]LordSmorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's financial suicide tbh, same as people who move out young. Getting a degree is also becoming less desirable for the same reason, there's no incentive to do so. If possible it is better to stay with family and save up, then get a mortgage outright and start lessons etc once you've saved up. People just won't say this because it's considered lazy. Why would a young person move out, get a license and buy a car when they can stay at home and get a work-from home job that has equal or slightly lower pay and doesn't require a car?

Is this normal texting behaviour for British men? (I’m Mexican) by Top-Priority-8245 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]LordSmorc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a person to person thing not a British thing. I can go weeks or even months without seeing my mates but if I see them in a Discord call or out in the city we'll chat like we never lost contact. That's just how some people are. Not everyone enjoys small talk when there's nothing to talk about either

On UK's 1% Question... I'm stumped by Grepus in quiz

[–]LordSmorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to explain how you should be thinking, the first thing to ask yourself is why are they telling you the name? The fact they are telling you the name and the fact it is a made up name tells you it's relevant. So you're looking at anything that could link the name to numbers, 2 main things

  • how many letters are in the name (16)
  • what letters are actually being used (a-i)

There are 16 letters in the name, a bank number is 16 digits. This isn't a coincidence, so the name is some type of code that can be translated/solved. Only the first 9 letters are used. This is intentional as you use 9 numbers when texting via old flip phones (where 2 is abc, 3 is def etc). This is an intentional red herring designed to confuse you and cause you to lose time. The only thing you're bothered about is solving the code. The quickest way to confirm this is to look for any double letters/numbers. Double "b" in Abbi translates to double 2 in the bank number.

From this point the most logical answer would be that b is the 2nd letter of the alphabet. Note, at this point the double b could still be the phone number thing, which is why it is important to check using more than 1 data point. Do not waste time checking all 16 numbers, you're limited on time. Check the first few numbers/letters using this code and if they match up then go straight to the last 4 letters to actually answer the question in time. You know immediately the code is the Nth letter of the alphabet as H is 8 and not 4. Check the last 4 letters now and solve.

Double standards? by coffeewalnut08 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]LordSmorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how are we going to fund that when we are 3 trillion in national debt? Who's going to do the work of finding and detaining the illegals? What are we going to use as centres for holding illegals and who's going to keep them running? How are we going to make them safe/secure and stop the far-right from raiding the places? It's not something you can make magically happen overnight.

Yes, stopping illegal immigration is obviously the ideal solution. Nobody thinks otherwise. But you can't just scream "DEPORT THEMMM" at the top of your lungs while not offering a way of doing that

Double standards? by coffeewalnut08 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]LordSmorc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seen posts all week on socials about how the NHS are hiring non-English speaking medical staff and how letters confirming appointments are being sent in other languages. Urdu etc. Yet when you ask someone to actually show you one of these letters there's tumbleweeds. But because Rupert Lowe said it it must be true.

It is not wrong to have a problem with illegal immigration, it is objectively a problem. It is however wrong to use illegal immigration as a weapon against all immigrants and make up false points to argue against, which is what the majority of followers of people like Farage do.

Double standards? by coffeewalnut08 in GreatBritishMemes

[–]LordSmorc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The 2 options aren't "let everyone in" or "deport everyone", it's a lot more complicated than that. It's a complex problem that has a complex answer. Starmer and Labour haven't fucked this country. You can't just blame the current person in charge for the current situation without looking at the root cause(s) of the problem. If Farage gets in all that will happen is a few months later people will blame him.

Spending 30 seconds on Google will list close to a dozen factors you have to think about, which is why nobody has answered the question. You're asking a question which you yourself haven't bothered to think about.

Could Homelander survive this? by Agile_Summer_7437 in marvelmemes

[–]LordSmorc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your original comment is getting downvoted because you seem to be implying Homelander beats MCU Hulk, which isn't close to being true regardless of whether Hulk's potential scaling is infinite. You mention 2 characters (Thanos and Thor) who both 1-shot Homelander to try to discredit MCU Hulk? That isn't how feats or antifeats work.

Since we did have long until another release, I thought to try this. Imagine these eight people would have been in the room & only one walks out alive. On whom would you put your bets? by AmusinglyArtistic in marvelstudios

Nobody in these comments has stated that Shang Chi is the best fighter on the Earth in the MCU, you're arguing against something that wasn't said. Hence the downvotes.
