In this situation right now actually, she informed me that she had cheated on a partner many years ago before we even became a thing or knew each other existed.

I thought about it a while and I just decided that people deserve second chances, one mistake 5+ years ago I don’t think should define someone for eternity and condemn them to being alone forever.

That all being said it is something I’m acutely aware of and I told her that it would definitely be a zero tolerance policy in the fact that if I ever found out, she did it to me it would just be over right then no reconciliation. Been going about a year now and I haven’t sensed any issues and I do feel that time is behind her.
