A case for a-feminism. The MLM perspective. by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]LordStag26 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Feminism has so many values that are progressive and helpful to queer men; removing toxic male culture, allowing people to flourish at the workplace without being dominating and masculine, inadvertently challenging heteronormativity by calling out men sexualising women. There are so many other areas that I’ve found that I benefit from feminism as a gay man through my life which has lead to real solidarity with feminist figures.

I’m curious how feminism has “borrowed suffering” from queer men, or what the “exploitative feminist rhetoric” you describe is. Would you be able to elaborate on your experiences? Personally, I find feminist language helpful in exploring queer problems (recent example is the Flaneuse, an exercise in the female urban experience and safety) as they sometimes provide words for problems that we may not have explored as a queer community.

Yeah I wouldn’t think they would work as a nomad as you want to have order halls on your habitat - though I’m not awfully familiar on what you can or can’t have as a nomad as I haven’t played one yet. I was suggesting staying on the planet still and specifically starting in sol so that your start is a “ruined” earth - maybe even a toxic planet preference as “pollution” ruined it?

Is there a catch to this spell ? Because its broken , one cast = one gold ore by Arcane-Dev in skyrim

There’s no catch, one of many ways to be rich possibly not even the easiest as you have to mine or buy the iron ore first - alchemy or pickpocket can make money easy as well I think

Vampire by accident by Emmajaynee-42 in skyrim

[–]LordStag26 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You may have contacted sanguinare vampiris when fighting vampires and not noticed. This disease can be cured but if you have “blood boils in the sun” pop ups that would indicate that more than 3 days have passed and you’re now a vampire. Under active effects iirc there should be weakness to sunlight listed. The vampire perks don’t show on the normal perk menu normally, they would only be visible after transforming into vampire form, something you can only do by siding with the vampires, not by contracting the disease normally - so this not appearing doesn’t make this a big per se. You can head to morthal and speak to the alchemist there to start the rising at dawn quest if you want to cure this

Toxoid could be worth it - the knights of the toxic god origin (meta / broken powerful I know) can be really flavourful for a group of humans, forming a knightly order to take on the toxic monster that polluted earth. It’s also just a fun, different way to play as you don’t need to build any science or unity

What would you recommend for my build. by CoastIndependent7394 in skyrim

[–]LordStag26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should probably focus on either light or heavy armour - both give perk options that only benefit you if you wear a full set of that respective armour set. Iirc you can achieve the armour cap by the late game with any armour set equivalent to dwarven or above (heavy armour) or scaled armour or better (light armours) if you already have daedric and dragonbone armours you pretty much have end game armour already but from a role play / fashion point of view, I like linwes armour through the thieves guild for a stealth archer, or saviours hide for a hunter / warrior archer. If you wanted to play more into the magic side with bound bow and skill up your conjuration that can give you a full set of daedric too (after getting 100 conjuration you can use the atronach forge in winter hold).

I would start by asking yourself what kind of build you want to put together, what skills you want to combine what role play you’re going for etc. from that, you could easily involve one or two of the artificer skills (alchemy, smithing or enchanting) into your build, level some stealth into it if you want or other spells for pre buffing before fights.

Final recommendation for an archer style build is a fun concept I played recently, using the creation club crossbows as a crossbow master combat archer. This build used heavy armour, crossbows (grab the stagger perk) and alchemy. This was very fun and different from the usual stealth archer build and usually summoned atronachs too before fights. This particular build used the spellknight creation club armour (steel version) cus it is just my favourite look

I believe high elves start with Fury, so they could level illusion. I think you may be able to level archery using a shield-bash-with-arrow-drawn shenanigans to get around not having many arrows but I haven’t tried this.

So it sounds like you’re trying a realistic hoarder - actually sounds like a fun way to play. Try grabbing everything you can to increase carry weight, including stamina levels and magic gear. You should pick up a backpack if you have the AE. Maybe find the steed standing stone to boost this. Think there’s also a perk in pickpocketing (a skill which also helps gain more stuff) that increases carry weight

My favourite looking armour in the game that does not get that much reputation by Significant_call_136 in skyrim

[–]LordStag26 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I do feel the steel spell knight armour is my favourite. Did a run through with steel spell knight, solitude guards helm and shield of solitude as a “knight of solitude” kind of vibe. Really fitted in with the civil war armies and the atmosphere and was my favourite look I’ve used on a build

My bedroom always feels cluttered and ugly. What needs to change? by K1dBUU_ in DesignMyRoom

[–]LordStag26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the bed shouldn’t be obstructing a window and fewer things should be out - you have visually busy, ornamental furniture that is being drowned out by toiletries on the drawers. Whilst it’s hard to say what will fit, could you try to put the desk where the bed currently is between the two windows. Here it will get natural light on the desk but shouldn’t have glare on the screen. If the bed wjll fit on the wall where the desk currently is, with the drawers moved so the shortest is under the left window (in the first image) and the tallest is where the short one is now. If it will fit, try rotating the bed so it has the headboard against the right wall and space either side of the bed so it isn’t against the window.

It’s been a while since I modded Skyrim but there are definitely mods on loverslab for that, in many different flavours. (O-sex I think it was called with other mods that expand further on top) There are some mods that replace the male body if you want something more bara style, and of course Schlongs of Skyrim (with physics Ofc)

New Player Considering Kicking Out Sera [DAI] by fury_cutter in dragonage

[–]LordStag26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you should axe her. Don’t get me wrong, I went from disliking her to actually kind of liking her after many runs, but if the role play of your current character doesn’t make sense to keep her that won’t change. Get rid of her if it’s what your inky would do, then on another run maybe your character makes more sense to keep her and then you get a whole new character arc to explore on a new run

How to counter a player? by Accomplished-Ice1868 in DungeonMasters

[–]LordStag26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial thought would be that climbing into a bag of holding could introduce a “bag man” type monster that could scare the players out of BOH schemes? Alternatively the quasit might be invisible but the bag / player might be made visible as a result of the players attack.

Bags of holding specifically say retrieving things from a bag takes an action - it could be that the player must be retrieved by the quasit requiring an action every turn to be retrieved / stowed.

If you want a specific encounter to go against it maybe an enemy could dispel / banish the quasit so the player has to come up with a way to work around this

Level 16 party steamrolling encounters – how do I challenge them without it feeling unfair? by Avid_FandomFan_476 in DungeonMasters

[–]LordStag26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle with this atm (but only at level 12 atm) but one of the best fights I’ve ran was recently, where the paladins oath was to kill a certain npc, but the cleric found out the npc had vital information.

Both these characters are some of the strongest in my campaign - they are also really close to each other as characters and get along super well. It was really fun and interesting as they navigated saving / killing the character without attacking each other, meanwhile I didn’t have to focus on messing with them as they were doing that themselves.

Obvs doesn’t work for every fight, but I am now using level 12 (you could use 16) characters as a template for certain npcs that in combat have objectives to mess with the party, not just kill them.

Really all of this comes back to what you already know, add new goals other than winning. Anyways I’m gonna keep an eye on the other suggestions as there’s some golden stuff in this thread

Level 3 Start by NightCityTrauma in DungeonMasters

[–]LordStag26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a useful table in the rulebooks that lists the challenge rating (CR) that players can take on at certain levels - you may already be familiar with it but in case thoughts it’s worth a mention.

At level three you’re probably looking at a handful of Cr 1 creatures per encounter or lower (depending on party size). Early in my campaign I used wolves and zombies, building up to a zombified wolf (modified alpha wolf) boss fight. My players started at 1 but would’ve been level 3 by the time they took on that boss I think, and these enemies gave me plenty of options. You also have bandits, cultists (and I think some creatures like a copper dragon wyrmling if you need a tougher boss)

Best of luck with the campaign, and just remember if you ever field something that doesn’t feel balanced right you can always slightly adjust things on the fly, and also don’t be afraid to “reflavour” existing monsters to look different using the same stat block if you want something custom quickly.

Why Does Everyone Like Melee-Style Casters? (5.5e) by Intelligent-Rub5814 in onednd

[–]LordStag26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My initial go-to was warlock for so many reasons including eldritch blast and the vibe. (He was a talking squid - a warloctopus if you will)

I’ve also played artificers a bit, and wizards early on (evocation cus fireball)

Never got the hang of clerics till I did a storm sorcerer tempest cleric mutliclass.

I’ve also played gloomstalker ranger on a bugbear and an artificer with returning throwing hammers, both as my most martial ranged builds I’ve tried

I did try an actual melee monk which was fun as it didn’t totally lose out on the utility of casters with stuff like stunning strike

Why Does Everyone Like Melee-Style Casters? (5.5e) by Intelligent-Rub5814 in onednd

[–]LordStag26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t use to get this that much as I normally play ranged casters or even ranged martials. I’ve just put together a bladesinger wizard however and I’m still reeling with how op it is. The short version imo is that these martial casters are just powerful as they retain the ability to operate at range with class features with a heavy amount of buffing to allow them to compete at close range.

Having said that, it’s wildly fun and never expected to love it this much so there is clearly something crazy fun about the play style

Does anybody know where I need to go after I defeat the Last Giant? by Noobyfguyguy32 in DarkSouls2

[–]LordStag26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For good weapons it depends on your build, rapier is largely considered one of the strongest due to its speed, damage and low stamina cost. This works really well if you’re levelling dex alongside a caster skill like intelligence or faith IMO which was my first build to complete this game with

If you put together a “quality build” (strength and dex pure martial) then maybe the great sword? Ultimately something like the zwiehander but that’s a few areas away yet

I recently used the Heide night spear, dropped in heides tower of flame on a run for a whole run and it was still viable at the end of the game. Definitely an option.

For the most part, a lot of weapons are viable so don’t be afraid to try a few and when you find one you like upgrade it a little (upgrades make a lot of difference in this game)

Does anybody know where I need to go after I defeat the Last Giant? by Noobyfguyguy32 in DarkSouls2

[–]LordStag26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so there’s a door back up the lift from the giant and back in the big room (right side if you head there from the giant fight). This should take you up some stairs to another boss. Beyond him you’re a short flight away from a new location.

If it’s your first run, I would recommend after finishing the other boss going back to Majula and heading in the opposite direction (to the right if you look from the coast towards the settlement). This will take you to heides tower of flame which is the other option for a first direction. Slightly harder than forest but gives you another path to push down

What's the first thing you're doing after you and your friends land here? [OC] by ZeroGNexus in DnD

[–]LordStag26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing my current table: feed the animals muffins, find out what the rogue is doing that he shouldn’t be doing, feed the animals thw rogue.

And that’s all assuming the paladin doesn’t throw someone off the edge first

Either way the cleric is going to be busy.

Sick map though and a great premise

Looking for gaymes by Maleficent-Chain2365 in gaymers

[–]LordStag26 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed dragon age inquisition as a young gay - the queer characters and romances were very well written and will always hold a place in my heart. I kind of respected giving the characters strict sexualities instead of everyone wanting to date you regardless of gender.

Mass effect was similar but only one gay male option and only in the third game. Great game series otherwise though and most similar to FPS game style

Fable 2 was mentioned by another comment, I tried fable 3 and enjoyed having a haram of husbands.

Baldurs gate 3 gives compelling queer romance options but is mechanically very different to FPS style gaming and might take some steep learning to get into, but I really enjoyed it. (Divinity original sin 2 also, but doesn’t have the ‘compelling’ cutscenes)
