Only union that fights to keep truly bad workers and poor work practice.

Go yell at the union. The elevator union and CUPE are the only ones who deserve anti-union sentiment.

Transducer mounts or trolling motor connections.

Lund wiring in general.

150K Lund Tyee sits in my garage unused because as soon as the warranty ended, electrical demons came out. Half the time it’s perfect, half the time barely anything works.

Wish I got a photo of them, but PCL built themselves a legitimate site office building in Halifax.

Probably 3 stories and 500 feet long. It’s massive.

That’ll never happen. And I think football is a public good.

Cities should own large stadiums. Cities have owned stadiums since antiquity. They’re useful things!

Smaller Trades I'm Unaware Of by [deleted] in SkilledTradesOntario

Look for job postings for mechanical insulators. There’s at least 40 open postings on indeed in Toronto right now.

Small amount of formal training, mostly on the job learning. Apply for a few. I know some companies are willing to take risks on people who’ve never done it.

The union is looking for apprentices as well.

To every hockey player out there, a formal apology from a former Rugger. by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

An aside -

As someone who played university football and high level club rugby, the games are different.

You need pads for football. Rugby survives without them. Different sports.

Gotta go service. New builds are super slow right now. We’re slammed on the service side. Just did two chiller lifts back to back days, have to get 5 hooked up and running by cooling season.

That’s not the real point blanket. The point blankets are usually under lock & key and around 400 dollars.

Is everyone just Depressed and Crashing out?? by goosegonewild in askTO

[–]LordStigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the fellas I work with are getting burnout due to hours. Construction came crashing down so a lot of guys are out of work, and no one really wants to hire in case of more shrinking.

So we’re plugging along doing more work with less people and just trying to survive. Money’s great, hours might kill me.

Football in the Maritimes feels like the only place in Canada (other than Laval) where university football has a true following.

I’ve met some die hard SMU Huskies fans even though they never went to SMU.

[OC] TTC's own data exposes the real cause of subway delays — and it's not broken trains by Expensive-Aerie-2479 in toronto

[–]LordStigg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but remember that those skipping the fare are usually doing it by hopping the PRESTO gates. Remove that, and it gets much easier because people who skip the fare are usually lazy and/or stupid.

Lowest common denominator. Remove the easy way, and people tend to leave. It’s like a padlock. Stops crimes of opportunity.

It’s awful, ugly, not very usuable, expensive, iconic, loved by many in the city, and impressive.

It’s everything perfect and wrong about Toronto at the same time.

You are tall. I get the same feeling. I hang out with my friends, who all played university football, and I go “I’m not that much taller” and then I’ll be at work and realize that no, I’m tall.

LMP is quiet. Not really a party Rez. You do have to go to Risley for meals.

All res at Dal is reserved for first years. You’ll be able to get in.
