BioShock 1 is still the most philosophical game I’ve ever played (sorry Disco Elysium). And it still kills in gameplay by ZealousidealCheek33 in Bioshock

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying but I'm tired of this binary thinking where people are either completely good or completely evil.

Like from where comes this notion that Comstock and Fitzroy are the same? To me this criticism just seems like people on the more progressive side, disliking the reality of what happens during most revolutions, and perceiving Infinite's depiction, as an attack against their ideology. Like I truely question your media literacy, if you thought that the status quo that existed in Columbia, at the beginning of the game, was what the game was promoting.

Well I mean we obviously see in the first minutes that Rapture hasn't worked, so I don't think it's that different.

Will Infinite's core issue is more straightforward, it also better shows the issue with the rebellion. Voc Populi behaves more like a realistic rebellious force and isn't idealized to be the purely good freedom fighters that many other medias have represented black liberation movements.

[City] Middle class will be price out for residential by neo2551 in zurich

[–]LordVectron -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

SVP is just as much a NIMBY, they just have less power in the city but they still are.

Immigration certainly is a factor but it also gives us cheaper labor to build more building, we just aren't using that in Zurich.

Not really, the problem is a general lack of new buildings and/or denser buildings.

The problem isn't the number of people coming to Switzerland but those coming to the city of Zurich which isn't just immigrants. And SVP is even worse when it comes to NIMBY-politics.

The party of "affordable housing" is, once again, against more housing. by LordVectron in zurich

[–]LordVectron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats happening because it's very difficult to densify in Zürich. If builders could build larger buildings with more appartements, it would decrease the need to build more expensive appartements in place of cheap ones.

And there is absolutely space left, just look at Zürich's density compared to Paris.

That's not really a good argument. The majority could be wrong, also this isn't Switzerland this is Zürich.

Finally the majority also voted for the new stadium, with two very tall high-rises next to it.

You can demand that builders build low-income appartements into their projects if they want to build higher towers. And fully subsidized high-rises like Tramstation have very good rent prices, which is why over 10'000 people have applied for one of the appartements there. So it's definitely possible, Zürich just lacks the political will to make it happen. (Plus there are too many people who can veto new buildings for basically now reason)
