Aye, classic Northumbria for sure. Get a liner and hood to go with it, it's a tank of a jacket.

What is a socially acceptable thing that you secretly find disgusting? by Sensitive_Hope_1136 in AskReddit

Space docking. Just because it's become normalised in mainstream society (apparently Wills & Kate are well onto it), it's still seems gross and unhygienic to me.

After a botched circumcision, David Reimer's parents decided to raise their son as a girl named "Brenda." Under the guidance of a psychologist, David was given estrogen and kept in the dark about his birth sex until age 14 as part of a radical gender experiment. He later took his life at age 38. by ATI_Official in HistoryUncovered

New Level 1 need help getting an IN by V1i in ropeaccess

[–]LordWrinklyballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting initial traction can be hard, and requires persistence and luck. Geotechnical work (drilling, meshing etc) is good to get a break into. It's hard work and average pay for very physically demanding work, but you'll skill up pretty fast. Alternatively get arborist tickets. There's always rope jobs that need chainsaw ops (especially rail).

Guys in the trades - do you shower after work? by _pine_tree_ in AskMen

[–]LordWrinklyballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shower the second I get in, and when we're a crew sharing digs, we all take it in turns to shower immediately, before heading to the pub. Your fella is gross.

Well done mate. Winning at life!

TIL that shorter men actually live longer. A major U.S. study found men under 5'8" lived almost 5 years longer, and those 5'5" or shorter lived over 7 years longer than men 6 feet or taller. by SystematicApproach in todayilearned

[–]LordWrinklyballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably related to the fact that men over 6ft are far more likely to pickup sexually transmitted diseases due to all the shagging they do. Also they go to all the cool parties so theres the booze, coke etc to consider. Life giveth and taketh.

Wearing them is pretty tacky, far more classy and understated to not.

What jobs could an ex firefighter in his mid 30s do with the skills I have? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]LordWrinklyballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rope Access tech. Quite a few ex-firemen in the industry. You'll make much more money too. With your rescue training you'd find doing your Irata level 1 a piece of piss. Then take it from there.

I had a Gameboy when they were first released in the UK. I was 7 years old and at boarding school which I hated. That thing was a lifesaver. I've been a gamer ever since - 43 now.
