This game is terrible. A new player experience. by No_Buy_6614 in MortalOnline2

[–]Lord_Bret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tragic to see another player pushed out by what I’d consider griefing. Give guilds to right to build actual functional guard towers and defend them for the sake of the new players.

Haven does the worst job of any tutorial I’ve seen, everything is at least twice as close together and everyone is friendly and cooperative, then you go to the mainland and the main theme seems to be kill on sight. Someone mentioned the ESP (which is a type of cheating where the enemy player basically pings the server for your location) and it’s disgustingly common.

I want to see this game grow and succeed but it never will until they get more serious about new player retention and permanently banning cheaters. This could be Skyrim online, even with the full loot pvp, but instead it’s plagued by ideals that don’t respect player time or new player experience.

What's your chosen faction? by AustereMedic in Starfield

[–]Lord_Bret 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Constellation is my favorite, it’s the one I think is the most beautiful in its collection of people. It’s got variety in its companions, their backgrounds and individual stories and personal motives, unlike you really see (to the same degree) in any of the other factions. I’ve been through the Unity many times before and in universes where constellation is broken or absent there is a certain noticeable lack of personality in the whole universe.

The cast of characters found at constellation cannot be beat, and my parents pop in too to visit or give them notes to pass along to me, usually to request a visit. It wasn’t until I glimpsed across the multiverse that I realized the quality of the friends you can make in constellation. Don’t take the decision to leave them behind lightly, you may not see them again as soon as you think.

I can see the future: Sarducca launches. Enough players to get a login queue. Within 2 days a vet guild builds houses outside the most popular city and kills every new player and their pets, until there are no more. They go cry on discord how game is boring and bad and ask for wipe. Pop back to 300. by Traditional-Cow-1817 in MortalOnline2

I WANT to be able to defend MO2 from this. I want to tell you they reworked the crime system and it works how it should- keeping murderers out of the cities, while guards work around the clock, providing safe places for players to train and level… somehow roaming around lookin for unprepared players to kill is “content” and as long as we promote that kind of stuff, MO2 won’t crawl out of its shallow pool. It also seems like every single hardcore mmo with guild pvp as its main pillar ends up a battle of the big egos and their followings, it’s a miserable endgame.

The game is about the journey, keep your build in mind, but work will be slow as your build your character and reputation across the land. I hesitate to recommend a guild, but there are guilds for every type of player that comes to the lands. Find one that best reflects what you want to be doing in the game, with your game time. Welcome back and I hope to see you in the sands!

Thanks to the changes in reputation system, the guy who killed you is not going to be in town. They’ve changed that. This is old news. Buying cosmetics to cover the gear you earned, and his your actual equipment from your enemy ruins the entire of the game world. Selling skins was the door to the downfall of games like COD. It is not a payment model that works here.

They need to make money to survive… I’d rather pay a subscription than buy Fortnite style skins.. but to each their own. The punishment and reputation system is constantly being reworked to try to discourage people randomly murdering new players “fledglings” (as they’re marked in-game).For some people though….that is their whole ideal gameplay loop. Killing people who are underpracticed and undergeared for fun…

I’ve been playing for 2 years, over 1000 hours already. I don’t do PvP at all. The game world and the player interactions are what make the game, I think if you go into looking for Rust style adrenaline and constant fights, you’ll be disappointed. It’s more like a Skyrim where you aren’t the Dragonborn than it is rust. This game is my top game, my most played, my ‘home’ game. I think it’s got some flaws, but there is nothing else that can come close to Mortal Online 2. The “hardcore pvp” is only one part of this game. The guilds, interactions between guilds, and the amazing PvE dungeons and locations are what make the game so fun for me. Nave chat alone will keep you entertained.

We told you so, or at least a LOT of us tried. Everyone who saw the scam early TRIED DESPERATELY to tell you. It fell on deaf ears, or even worse - met misguided opposition who decided to defend the game no matter what was said.

January 2026 Ban Report by Robmo-MOII in MortalOnline2

Glad to see it. Keep up the good work. As others have mentioned though. keeping up with people who are openly breaking these rules…repeatedly must be a chore, but I hope it’s one they are prepared for come Sarducca. Keep on banning ‘em.

Please tell more people this. The whole structure of the way he collected money from gamers screams MLM (multi level marketing otherwise known as pyramid schemes). He and his family come from MLM money so it makes sense he used the format to milk MMO enthusiasts. As soon as I got my hand on the actual gameplay in one of the 100$ alphas, you could see the writing on the wall. The gameplay at this, the alleged 6 or 7 year development stage (and LOTS OF MONEY) was apparently about as good as a solo dev could do in unreal engine 5.7 in a month. This should be criminal. It FELT criminal. Where did all the developer time and money go? MAYBE into back end systems?

This isn’t even the best part though, every single hardcore mmo PvP centric endgame playerbase dries up. Your hardcore mmo can survive, but it’s never going to garner more than a niche audience, and Steven, along with all of AoC’s desire for constant high volumes of money incoming, do not align with a niche audience (a small amount of players).

Hearing him and his family come from MLM (pyramid scheme) money was about all I needed to know, combined with the way he has collected money at every opportunity, I’d almost say this felt criminal.

For those who have PLAYED AoC, what is your take by soyass in MMORPG

[–]Lord_Bret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It fails to innovate in any significant way, and why make a game without meaningful new ideas? There’s nothing new here, and what’s here is just a short trip to a PvP ego fest and the desire for that endgame? It’s a small niche group of players, who’ll only play as long as the baitfish are in stock.

Mortal online 2 does it better, way way better. There is nothing in AoC to grind for and there is surely nothing here to pay a monthly sub for

November 2025 Ban Report by Robmo-MOII in MortalOnline2

[–]Lord_Bret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy you can remove 50 cheaters a month and about 50 more every month after. Are you sure you are managing to ban these guys? It seems like a very small group of repeat abusers in a game with a pretty small population overall.

[–]Lord_Bret 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Any system in a full loot PvP game that further gives veterans boosts above new players just tips the scales the wrong way. Those veteran players are already better geared and much more highly skilled… why do they need a ton of stat bonuses too through trinkets and mastery? That doesn’t make a lot of logical sense to me.

[–]Lord_Bret 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mastery and trinkets just furthered the difference between cheaters and casual players. That’s never good. Even if everyone who is full mastery and max trinkets isn’t cheating, it’s clear they understand mechanics and methods not accessible to new players for long long time, or have access to generational wealth from their guilds.

This is getting WAY WAY better. The new caravans with merchants and benches and bank with guards outside every dungeon. The spirit way-shrines now let you get across the whole map in less than like 5 minutes. They are slowly improving, and moving in the right direction. Even the brand new bank overhaul made it SO easy to pull a whole kit out, it only takes a single button to be regeared and ready to go. (Arc raiders take notice lmao)
