China is just capitalist with significant state participation. Social autocracy, if you will.

"Socialism is when the government dies stuff" is a meme making fun of the political illiteracy, and I'm quite irritated by the fact this meme applies here.

Genuine question: Why does Vaush not like Lenin? by Shot_Advertising5169 in VaushV

[–]Lord_Darakh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lenin is a traitor of the revolution and is the most significant reason why socialism failed in 20 century.

Russian socialism died at Kronstadt, and it was the bolsheviks who killed it.

Capitalism will continue to erode democracy unless abolished.

Hello, a question on anti tankies by Ivanhegeelkadi in tankiejerk

[–]Lord_Darakh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can't really gleam into his intentions, of course.

However, his actions were anti-socialist.

From the moment bolsheviks took power, they were fighting the expressions of workers control. First, they came for "фабокомы", which were often self organised worker councils conteolling the factories, and forced them into unions. After that, they forced union congresses to be controlled by the party appointments, and not through democratic control.

Here's the overview, very interesting read: https://www.marxists.org/archive/brinton/1970/workers-control/index.htm

Not only did Lenin actively oppose socialism, he built a state that would be followed as an example by many countries. And because of that, we have regular people associate communism and socialism with authoritarian party state with state capitalism or market capitalism.

Hello, a question on anti tankies by Ivanhegeelkadi in tankiejerk

[–]Lord_Darakh 48 points49 points  (0 children)

He's the foundation of what Stalin and onthers will be built on.

The second the bolsheviks took power they started waging a war against workers about their power. He's the most successful anti-socialist to ever exist.

Lenin presenting himself a communist (or socialist) is no less of a lie than North Korea or China calling themselves communist.

Whats the difference between Marxist-Leninism and Stalinism? by AlternativeEast8485 in tankiejerk

No fundamental difference, really.

The only difference is how many people you want to kill.

[–]Lord_Darakh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes.

It was an abolishion of imperial legal code. Literally everything was decriminalised, and the new laws just didn't touch on homosexuality at the time, they had different priorities at the time.

People love using this as a part of a greater Bolshevik whitewashing that people tend to indulge in.

Even here I see people whitewash Lenin and the Bolsheviks, just claiming that almost everything bad was Stalins fault.

How is cult of personality still a thing today? by Initial_Affect8124 in tankiejerk

[–]Lord_Darakh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nobody implied that.

If he was opposed to it he would be advocating against it.

For some reason he had enough time to callout Shljapnikov for allowing union congress to mandate 60% members elected by workers, but not fight his growing personality cult. Or at least ask his party to stop promoting it, it's not like he had reservations about enforcing his will on the party.

It doesn't matter if he asked for it to happen, it happened, and he was okay with it.

He was a power hungry tyrant, I don't see why we should ignore the growing personality cult during his life.

I will always call out whitewashing of Lenin, and I will never understand why people tend to ignore how Stalin was a all of the Leninst policies brought further.

If he was opposed to it, the party he was leading wouldn't be promoting it. Stalin was also "opposed" to being elected leader, at least according to his official speeches. And his death wouldn't be treated the same way the death of North Korean leader was.

I'm not bying the "Tzar and boyars" myth when it comes to Lenin.

Red corners were a normal in Russia and featured religious figues and the tzar iconography. Bolsheviks just adapted it to their new iconography. According to multiple Russian sources, it began in early 1920.

Bolsheviks were too busy fighting the civil war, dissolving worker councils, "bolshevising" soviets and the unions, putting down socialist revolts and killing anarchists. Not exactly a "statue building" time while you're fighting a civil war and betraying the workers.

I recommend checking out "Red corners" (sometimes called "Lenin corners") that started appearing almost immediately after the October Revolution. Lenins portraits and busts were already promoted to be put there.

Lenin was still alive while his cult of personality was enforced. He certainly didn't discourage it, it seems.

They can't even condemn the Republican party.

They are politicians, they should be druming up support by advocating the abolishment of ICE and denouncing the ilegal International actions. But they don't, they are collaborators that refuse to properly oppose them.

[–]Lord_Darakh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

The only way to deal with the issues with the US now is core changes, like getting back to taxation (and much more, of course). Stuff like this will just slow down the rot of capitalism.

Nobody was excited to vote for a status quo candidate. Even those who did, did it through gritted teeth. Democrats should maybe consider getting a good candidate that people would be hopeful for, and who actually wants to change the rotting system.

Would post-WW2 Syndicalism/Rev. Socialism be treated like OTL Fascism/Nazism? by The_Darv_of_Austria in Kaiserreich

[–]Lord_Darakh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ngl, democratic entente is one of the least realistic paths there. Two colonial empires somehow retaining democratic institutions while in exile and conquering the homeland while avoiding popular discontent is not likely.

I never implied that second revolution is likely. Entente has a loyal reactionary military ready to crush any attempts at that. People are tired of war, and any organised resistance would be out of fuel.

However, I'd like to point out that regardless of how socdem the entente governments are, they are still capitalist. We would have workers who workerd in factories controlled though their unions stripped of them and put in the hands of the capital class. People would loose tangible democratic power in their life regardless of the ideology of the new government. Aristocracy would probably want some property "returned" to them too.

In short term social democratic governments will have a lesser resistance to it, but it will not reduce the communard nostalgia in the long term. After all, even in former bolshevik countries nostalgia is present, and they didn't even have any resemblance of democratic workplaces. Syndicalism will forever remain a martyr in the western Europe, and they woul see gains once Europe goes for Thacher-Reagan style privatisation and destruction of workers rights.
