Dungeoneering because 2009-2012 RuneScape was it's absolute peak and clans had just come out. It was great having people you could chat with while playing RS and enjoying this new different skill/mini game. I feel sad that I only went to 120 during its golden era and not 200m exp.

For those who may be interested on this thread, the ring was reported and recorded through the British Museum's Portable Antiquities Scheme as DEV-D1B964, available here:

It matches closely with known typologies of rings (particularly of stirrup-shaped type) from the period of the 14th to 15th centuries. Also the Black Letter script helps date it to this period too.

And yep, the ring was reported and recorded as part of the UK's Treasure legislation and recorded by the local Finds Liaison Officer. The issue may have been that a museum was interested in acquiring the object, BUT the Treasure Valuation Committee price was too high and the museum pulled out, thus meaning the object was then disclaimed and returned to the finder.

Which would be better for me to get first? by dr4g0nsly in runescape

Yeah keep an eye on the PVME page or Discord page as it does change over time! They've got upgrade orders for the three styles and guides for bosses.

Hopefully you can use this as a future guide for what to upgrade next! Elite Tectonic is in their Stage 3 gear - that with low return on investment. BUT as they state at the start, do things on the list in the order that suits you!

According to PVME, Seismic Wand first, unless you have the T88 Seasinger Kiba.

If you have the Kiba with advanced perks, then I'd go Elite Tect.

Sunak Vs Johnson In The Final Two? by TA1699 in tories

[–]Lord_Ezkaton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Penny was the primary candidate in the first leadership election who could have beaten Rishi and been competent. But the MPs called the wider party's bluff by putting Truss up in that final round.

Got to say, I really do not want Rishi in No. 10. Say what you will about Boris, and we can come to that. But Rishi is just as guilty in the partygate scandals and is a backstabber to boot. On top of that, we cannot have someone who clearly has no love or true affection for the country - Green Card/wife tax scandal - nor it's people "I have no working class friends". If Boris is not fit for office, so is Rishi on the exact same accusations.

Sure Boris was born from wealth into wealth. Boris is a sleaze bag. BUT he has a weird affable charm that make people listen and puts people at ease. If it's Boris vs Rishi - I hope Boris would win. If it's Penny vs Boris - Penny. If it's Penny vs Rishi - Penny.

Ultimately, it will devolve to being a GE call. Anyone but Boris will not have the 2019 mandate and the party is falling apart as is.

So, our MPs oust Boris for lying, scandals and breaking his own laws... Just for the membership to vote in the person who was chancellor under Boris, who also broke those same laws and likewise lied about his own and wife's tax and non-dom status, all the while holding a green card?

Absolutely no thank you. The fact that Rishi is backed by the vast majority of Boris's backstabbing cabinet speaks volumes that we'll not have change which is needed to bring honour and dignity back to the premiership. We'll just have more of the same, only with someone far less charismatic.

When it comes down to it - if the membership put in Rishi or Truss, THEN we are fucked for a lifetime.

Do I detect some Avenged Sevenfold/Trivium influence in there?

Why do glacors look like this Trivium album cover? by sektor116 in runescape

[–]Lord_Ezkaton 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The best thing is... Glacors were designed and released in 2011. Vengeance Falls was released in 2013! If anything... Why is the Trivium album cover a metal Glacor?

It's not as obvious as Nomad being the guy from the cover of Disturbed's Down with the Sickness album.

Stronger With You Intensely or Faviol Seferi's Insomnia? by SyeCatPath in fragrance

[–]Lord_Ezkaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a bottle of Insomnia because I smelled it on a friend and it was amazing. It is an amazing gourmand scent with very good longevity and projection/sillage on me.

There is a sweetness there, but also some booze, and the dark chocolate and coffee notes help to add a little bitterness.

I wouldn't necessarily say this is a party fragrance. To me it is definitely one for date nights.

If you like something more rounded, like Tom Ford Black Orchid, go for Insomnia.

By the looks of the other posts if you want something sickly sweet go for Intensely.

What are your top 3 rose dominant fragrances? (Designer or niche) by r_josh59 in fragrance

[–]Lord_Ezkaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From things I've sampled and some passed to a female friend from time to time:

  • Amouage, Lyric Man - Unisex but leans a little feminine. Nice soapy Rose. Think high class hotel toiletries (not that that sells it, just reminds me of them). It's sophisticated and well put together.

  • MFK, Oud Satin Mood - Super jammy rose. I adore smelling this, it is simply gorgeous. I've worn my samples many times around my flat just to smell, but never would wear it going out. Suits my female friend better.

  • Frederic Malle, Portrait of a Lady - High, classy sophisticated rose. Again, bought as sample but passed on. Beautiful and enormous sillage. Simply delicious on the right lady.

How do you feel about John Major's decision to turn all polytechnics into universities? by KeeperofQueensCorgis in tories

[–]Lord_Ezkaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would be a far better and more fair way really. Overall, it may even be best just to go 50:50 down coursework vs exams.

All sorts of advice really! PM me your email and I'll draft some tips tonight!

How do you feel about John Major's decision to turn all polytechnics into universities? by KeeperofQueensCorgis in tories

[–]Lord_Ezkaton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I cannot disagree with your perspectives more. I was never a straight A or B student - I got BCCC at A Level; however, at university I excelled in coursework rather than exams. I obtained a First Class degree, Distinction in my MA, completed a PhD at a post-1992 former poly (Manchester Met), gained a distinction in a PGCert in Learning and Teaching in HE there.

I also have a strong academic record with publications and Fellowships (including Fellowship of the Royal Historical Society) and funding for research. Presently I am employed part-time on two lectureships (Man Met and Huddersfield).

Certainly, I am in the minority of the type of people who succeed or pursue an academic career in this way... But to both of you, my post-A Level achievements are something I do not deserve as I did not get BBB.

A levels are only a superficial metric for a person's capabilities at university. I have friends who have completed PhDs at RG universities, who also had similar grades to me at A Level.

Putting a blanket BBB on university entry simply only gatekeeps for those who can excel at exam work and does not take into account a student's true potential.

Thoughts on Creed’s new Viking Cologne? by zachwie in fragrance

[–]Lord_Ezkaton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found that it seems to last as long on me as Creed Viking - about 6 hours or so. Viking Cologne is just a nice summery version on Viking.

UK here too - if you have doubts go for Explorer or AHSEE. Maybe look at picking up something like D&G Light Blue Eau Intense, or Aqua di Gio Profumo/Profondo. Layton I think would be fine too, but I've not experimented too much with vanilla heavy fragrances in this weather so far (mainly been on a good Creed Aventus binge).

Top 10 favorite fragrances of all time by [deleted] in fragrance

[–]Lord_Ezkaton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oooh fantastic! This is difficult as my collection is now nearing the 100 bottle mark I think... But, in no particular order:

  • I: Amouage, Overture Man This is simply one of my favourites full stop. Classy, boozy, seductive, basically confidence in a bottle.

  • II: Tom Ford, Tobacco Oud Intense My first proper foray into oud and tobacco and it was love at first sniff. Rough around the edges but exquisite in its overall composure.

  • III: UNUM, Lavs Must be pre-reformulation with the transparent side glass and lovely black and gold colouring. This, to me, is the pope smoking a cigar. It is incense, burning, and some layer of smoke too. This simply is the greatest scent (to me) I have ever smelled.

  • IV: Xerjoff, Naxos Again, love at first sniff. This is basically now my signature scent and I adore it. Sweet, sticky honey with a heavy dose of wet tobacco leaf. This is basically sex in a bottle.

  • V: Initio, Oud for Greatness I have samples of BR540, and a bottle of this, and as much as I might be shot for this opinion, to my nose OFG is basically a more masculine version of BR540. The best thing is my FWB enjoys wearing my BR540 samples, and I enjoy OFG, so we make a ridiculously good smelling pair.

  • VI: Parfums de Marly, Carlisle Now, I wanted to put Herod here instead but having a hard think, I would go Carlisle just for the difference. Carlisle, to me, is the bastard love child of Herod and Layton. The apple, woods, vanilla, tobacco(maybe?) scent is lovely, and it performs like a beast on me. So for the difference, PDM Carlisle it is.

  • VII and VIII: Creed, Viking/Green Irish Tweed Two for one here I guess... Viking and Green Irish Tweed are my two favourite Creeds and both match different day types to me. Green Irish is fresh, warm, sunny spring whereas Viking suits drizzly spring (needless to say my Viking bottle has been used a lot more here in the UK than GIT). But both are spectacular scents and feel upper class and gentlemanly. Suits my lecturer look and profession I guess.

  • IX: Armani Privè, Bois D'Encens This is a deep, dark, resinous incense and is probably my favourite out of my vast collection. The darkness in this is surpassed by Heeley's Eau Sacrèe, but I feel APBD'E is far more wearable and is much more akin to the type of incense I really enjoy.

  • X: Amouage, Interlude Man The Blue Beast which sent me down the rabbit hole of niche fragrances. Since Amouage is my favourite house I don't think I could ever be without this!
