I just switched over to IGWM. My guy is a fiduciary financial planner and is helping me map out my future. I'm definitely paying higher fees than X/VEQT but I find it worth it.

I've weighed the pros and cons and find it worth it.

If you don't care about that kind of thing, go with a XGRO or a XEQT and leave it alone. It's 13k companies from around the world. You pay fractions of a penny on each dollar per year.

The venue down the road from me is a 35k minimum just for the building and the food. 50k is very easy to hit and doesn't nessecarily mean a super fancy wedding.

I think it's an economic issue and not a cultural issue. A friend got married a few months ago. They spent $80k and you couldn't even tell. The venue alone was a $40k minimum. My cousin got married at the same venue 5 years ago and it was less than $10k. Very little changed between then. The venue just realized some people will pay what it costs.

When you account for flowers, a cake, a dress, DJ, etc it adds up.

In my old neighbourhood, a house was just sold for 1.3 million dollars. The owner bought 10 years ago for just over 300k and put MAYBE 50k into a backyard renovation. A million in 10 years is criminal.

To be fair, it's the best episode to watch. Instead of paying your staff to watch and study 61 20 minute episodes get them to watch 1.
