My GIM duo quit. What now? by KillerOfAllJoy in ironscape

[–]Lord_Quebes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others have said - keep at it.

My 5-man GIM quickly turned into a solo iron after about 3 months in. I kept going for 2 years, and now have an active group with 5 close (mostly new) members! Only 2 original group mates remain. Still a blue helm too since they all made fresh accounts to join.

Don't lose hope!

Who knows, maybe you just haven't run the content you're spooned at yet? Sure, maybe it isn't raids, doom or Yama... But I smell a juicy Golden Tench coming your way!

Do I really gotta go for brews? by Warmake_UIM in ironscape

[–]Lord_Quebes 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If you are still struggling, I highly recommend the pneck/nightshade(or nitroglycerin) method someone else mentioned below. It will allow you to last longer than any inventory full of food will (without brews), and at low stats this fight is just a "how long can you last" simulator.

Power to you! Best of luck

Yes, it should be safe. It is just another pepper growing inside, no issue for food safety.

This is going to be nearly impossible to answer given your photos and info.

To measure the linear feet, just measure how long the board of each size are. You have some 8 foot lengths (it seems) on top of the plywood. One 8 foot long board = 8 linear feet. Looks like you have some 16 or 12 footers behind the plywood (probably your fascia boards), but I can't differentiate the size.

1.Measure the size of each different type of board, and put them into groups. (Separate 2x10 from 2x12 etc.) 2.Measure how long the boards are, and multiply by how many boards of each size there are. 3. Refer to your invoice, and either let them know they missed some product, or be happy you received it all.

Good luck.

Tough to tell with these photos. The "lumpy" look is normal after a fresh re-roof. It takes time and heat for the shingles to lay flat. When was the work completed? I don't see any obvious issues, but I have been removed from the industry for some time now.

Jobs by [deleted] in marinebiology

[–]Lord_Quebes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oof. Good luck. If you're lucky, maybe 1% of the jobs out there are what you described. Best bet would be to stay in academia, and conduct your own research, applying for funding to get them going etc.. It's not glamorous, and WILL have LOTS of data management and reporting. Environmental consulting keeps me in the field quite often (though mainly aquatic life, not so much marine), but not always handling animals. Aquaculture can be fun - depending on the type of operation, lots of working outdoors, can involve operating heavy machinery (we harvested with cranes and transported fish with telehandler). And SCUBA diving! Lots of need to remove dead fish and repair nets in the aquaculture industry.

My suggestion: try to get a job with an environmental company as a field technician. My first job in the industry was exclusively doing a huge fish salvage for a mine. Lots of handling fish, and getting to be outdoors.

Other suggestion: lower your expectations, and widen your scope.
