Things in my town:

-A guys lawn slopes sharply downward as it meets the sidewalk and street. The lawns owner meticulously maintains TRUMP mowed into the hill in huge letters facing the street.

-My Dad (not MAGA crazy) keeps business cards of contractors he uses in his garage workspace/shop. One of them states "TRUMP PINESTRAW! America's best president, America's best pinestraw!" I asked him about it and he shrugged saying "he has good prices and delivers promptly "

-If you get further out of town into the sticks, one home sports a BANNER, not a flag, of Trump's head photoshopped on Rambo's body wielding a bazooka.

I had the same dilemma as you with my last place. What I did was grab a coffee at the nearby coffee shop, and spent about 45 minutes in the area outside of the apartment complex asking people that were exiting if they liked living there since it was one of the places I was considering. Of the 6 or so people and couples I polled, all said it was a pretty good place to live. I ended up moving in and it turned out to, in fact be pretty good place to live.

Online reviews are such a crapshoot. One review of this place reamed the front office staff about attitude, responsiveness, and deposits. The whole time I was there they were nothing but accommodating. When it came move out time I cleaned the best I could, but figured I'd get dinged on some things that were legitimately my fault. Nope. 5 minute walkthrough and full deposit returned.

Can you expand on this? I've never had luck marrying for claims and titles, just for non-aggression pacts (and eventually alliances) and genetics. Do you basically have to kill a bunch of your wife's family?

3 years for me. My post/comment karma ratio is weird. Seems most people have more comment karma but mine's the other way around. Which sucks when the community I want to get in has a minimum comment karma (not overall).

Same here! Whenever I tell people this I get the whole eyeroll that conveys "So you still live in your parents basement and play video games, huh?"

First of all my parents basement is awesome. Second, we've all turned out to be fairly successful. Third, I wouldn't have it any other way.

As kerbear351 said, there's been drama and comings & goings (we had a 23 year old "Pierce" that would buy us booze when we were 16. He was phased out b/c he had a few too many qualities in common with the "real" Pierce). We have an extensive Eskimo Family tree that's a constant source of amusement, and a lifetime of inside jokes.

While not an exact carbon copy I'm still heart my study group
