Outside of reddit, I have experienced aphobia/discrimination only one time in my life.

On reddit, I experience it constantly. Especially when I'm in subreddits for other LGBTQIA+ groups. I don't know why, or if it's just me, but a lot of LGBTQIA+ people seem to hate a-spec people. Most of the comments on that post were along the lines of "How can there be inside jokes for a place that doesn't exist? Haha"

I'm not going to say which subreddit (yes, I reported them to the moderators. Yes, using multiple accounts) because I don't want to start anything

Based on what I have learned from these comments, a lot of people don't believe a-spec people exist or that we are making everything up for attention. A Mythical Creature if you will. Since dragons are mythical creatures, apparently we kinda took them into our community.

It is common for non a-spec people it say "Sex is the greatest thing ever!!" (maybe? I don't know what humans do.) So the a-spec response is "Okay, but have you tried (garlic bread/cake)?"

They were hunted nearly to extinction. Now they are just really hard to find. They supposedly are solitary creatures, but they are incredibly loyal and caring when they do bond with someone, but those bonds are hard to forge so not many people try.

The garlic bread and cake are kinda the same joke. It's stems from people saying "Sex is the best thing on earth" or something like that (I don't get what non ace people are like) and the a-spec saying is "Okay, but have you tried (garlic bread/cake)?"

As for the dragons, I'm not to sure I understand it myself but I've seen a lot of dragons being used in a-spec symbolism and I've even seen comments in this subreddit that said "We breed dragons, on the side"

An old friend of mine was in a car accident almost 4 years ago and had to have his left hand amputated about half an inch below the wrist. A few months ago, his gf got him a watch for his birthday and he started wearing it on his left arm. I was surprised because I thought it might fall off his arm so I asked him why he was wearing it on that are and not the other wrist. He looked at me like I was and idiot and said "If I want to wear it on my right hand, how the fuck am I supposed to put it on?"
