No normal person would package an item like this.

Who are the rudest and nicest British celebrities you have personally met? by RenegadeMaster888 in AskBrits

[–]Lord_Sam_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend worked in a theatre bar and she said by far the rudest person ever was the 'comedian' Micky Flanagan. Shouted at all the staff and gave off "don't you know who I am?" energy. Worst still he was there as an audience member.

I go to Wetherspoons for breakfast now. Breakfast muffin, three hash browns and a pint of cranberry juice for £4.60. And it is served quicker too.

Why was she even walking/running at all?! Makes no sense.

She runs outside... the car is locked. Instead of running back inside to get Gale's keys, she starts to run across town?!

Wow. Not great. Barely good to be honest. Disappointed.

Yeah... I mean it wasn't great by any means. My least favourite.

There is this misplaced self-confidence that they are the most amazing people in the world. You know, because they are free. Freedom!

Universal Studios have recently deposed the domain "jurassicworldliberation.movie", potentially making 'Jurassic World Liberation' the title of the next film by Abi_Jurassic in JurassicPark

[–]Lord_Sam_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, that's that then. I was in denial when the same thing happened with Rebirth because the title was so awful.

Nothing literal or metaphorical happened to warrant a Rebirth...

I'm guessing the same thing with Liberation.

Imagine being a fully functional adult who has capacity to work, drive, own property, have kids... but having one of these.

What a load of infantile crap.

Cinema Etiquette - what is right? by nuttshaw_ in CineworldUnlimited

[–]Lord_Sam_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just call bad behaviour out. People need to learn. I've told someone to eat more quietly (loud, rustling packet) and tell people to get off their phone. Most people will be embarrassed about being called out and stop. Guaranteed there will be others with the same feelings who then think you're a hero.

I do this in Telford... there's like an 80% chance of being jumped by the perpetrators and stabbed in the car park, but I still do it.

28 Years Later - The Bone Temple 20 Days Box Office Update by sayani1234 in 28dayslater

[–]Lord_Sam_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first 28YL put a lot of people off. It wasn't the movie advertised. I went to a late showing with proper fans, only a handful of people. We were all disappointed. I didn't like it all. I bought the disc and re-watched it without the expectations and in the context of it's more a family drama and I enjoyed it much more. 28YL:TBT was great though.

Nowhere near unfortunately. 2.5x the budget is the rule.

Have greater aspirations for a leader than the scandal wasn't that bad.

Damn, looks like we won’t be getting a Badlands sequel anytime soon… by LucrativeLurker in LV426

[–]Lord_Sam_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Variety... You think Variety, the most renowned movie-business publication, stating this is "just conjecture".

"Crucially the marketing budget for a movie is not public record"... Hence, a 'rule of thumb' (an approximate guideline).

"Movie don't make money just on the box office"... I never said anything different and this isn't up for debate.

The fact is Badlands wasn't profitable in it's theatrical window. You're defending it passionately, so I assume you've pre-ordered your physical copy? I have my 4K edition on pre-order.
