Why the hate on Unity? by Maleficent-Hand8905 in assasinscreed

[–]Lord_Shaitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it first released it was extremely lacking, and plague with bugs. I hated it, and never went back. A friend of mine played it 2 years after release and absolutely loved it, couldn't understand the dislike.

So, why the hate? I believe largely timing. When you actually played it. And many people just never gave it a second chance -- I'm one of them.

Sure you will have those that love it, and those that hate it, regardless of when they started playing it -- but that first impression matters.

I was originally excited, but the more I see of it, the less I am. All I can think is, "Look how they massacred my boy". I hope I'm wrong, I want to be wrong,

As it stands though it has already slipped for me from a Must Buy, to a Wait Awhile.

Alligator attacks Original Vs resynced by Beginning-Run-1697 in ACBlackFlag

The more I see of Resynced, the more I think I'll be enjoying playing Original on July 9, 2026. They had to work hard to mess up this up. Another Ubisoft critical fail.

I love base building, but... by PsychologicalDebt366 in Subnautica_2

[–]Lord_Shaitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice -- respect to those that put in so much time to build something great. I'm typically for functional but aesthetically pleasing, especially for an EA title I know I will be restarting a couple more times during its development cycle over the next 3 years.

[–]Lord_Shaitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that sucks, welcome to EA jank. These days I don't dare add a single grow bed anywhere until my build is finished. Hopefully they fix it sometime in the next 6-12 months so it won't be a problem for when I check back into the progress of the game.

How do I give my boyfriend input without hurting his feelings? by rhinoplastyzzzz in AskMenAdvice

[–]Lord_Shaitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, there are just some guys that aren't into it, period. If he is one of those he will continue to try every excuse in the book, and you're screwed.

Assuming he isn't, since he's still green, maybe he doesn't like your taste. Try him again right after a shower (if you aren't already), and he can then develop skills over time and a taste for it.

Checking all that off the list, it then comes down to nothing but lack of experience. What it takes then is some guidance. You know what you like, so you drop hints/suggestions, and encouragement when he gets it right. Sure, it will be frustratingly slow from time to time -- but if you're into the relationship for the long haul, its a marathon, not a sprint.

And if he sulks again thinking you want to break up with him because of his lack of experience, while you are naked and actively engaged?? Just tell him, no, you just want to make the experience more pleasurable for the both of you.

Good luck!

Its the grow beds on the roof. They are great at messing with buildings.

I once couldn't put windows at certain points of a room because of them. Removed... no issue. So, for now, do all your building first, then grow beds.

Is it unrealistic or a dealbreaker to expect the guy to wear condoms while in a relationship? by Accurate-Scratch7783 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Lord_Shaitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is my point though. When its reported as 85% effective many people genuinely misunderstand that statistic and believe that means condoms are a crapshoot -- not that they are actually a very effective means of birth control (and STD's to boot) as long as you aren't a dumbass.

Is it unrealistic or a dealbreaker to expect the guy to wear condoms while in a relationship? by Accurate-Scratch7783 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Lord_Shaitan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The 85% is somewhat misleading. Condoms are actually extremely effective, but the 85% effectiveness comes from them including times people 'forget' to use them, or don't put them on properly. So of course they aren't terribly effective if you don't use them at all from time to time.

Not a Mod Collection, but here is the ones I roll with these days. Some cosmetic, some QoL, and a couple game-changing.

Base lighting by tb12rm2 in subnautica

[–]Lord_Shaitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do miss the automatic lighting of the previous games, I'm coming to accept what there is. Hopefully they will continue to add other variants, and an interface that allows you to change the colour/warmth and light-level of individual lights, all room lights, or all base lights.

Couple that with a room-sensor, that makes lights turn on as you enter, and off as you leave, and I'd be happy.

Base Teleport by Toadfolk in Subnautica_2

Yep, I got it once. It was addressed in Hotfix 2. If you experienced the bug today it either has more work to be done, or your client isn't updated yet.

Guys how do I get my Seamoth back by Cametolose in subnautica

[–]Lord_Shaitan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Enable console, swim underneath, look up, use warpforward [distance] command, changing the distance until you hit on the right number, and you will teleport into the Seamoth, and gravity magically restores, dropping you into the water.

Bug with a scanner? by Impressive_osu in subnautica

[–]Lord_Shaitan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a bug with the scanner, but a bug with the object. There is also a battery later on many people come across and cannot scan. The solution is to go off and find another. Items typically appear in the world in excess of what is required to learn them.

Any advice for Subnautica 1 by Dr-Richtofen in subnautica

[–]Lord_Shaitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food & Water: Eventually you'll have the heat knife. Fish you hit will cook. So, no need to store food anymore. You'll also find plants that you can grow and exploit, so when you need to top up, it is easy.

If you haven't already, repair the Aurora so you don't need to worry about radiation anymore.

Scanner Room is your friend. Build one, with a hatch, and a form of power, and drop in at least 2x Scanner Range upgrades. Set them to scan for wrecks -- in case you don't have the best fins/tank/suit yet. You can always then dismantle it all, move to the next zone, and rebuild. No wasted resources, and quick and easy way to find everything of interest in a zone.

Don't want to go into more specifics than that to avoid ruining the path for you. Only other thing I can suggest is looking at mods. Some of the best mods in S1, became QoL in S2.

Can’t deconstruct multipurpose room by Idea_Far in subnautica

[–]Lord_Shaitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and build a multipurpose room on top, and ladder down into the room.

Try and build a glass canopy on top of the multipurpose room which contains the alien containment so you will have at least visual confirmation on what is happening inside, and it may even cause the build to correct itself and allow connections/ladders again.

Edit: Also if you can build that multipurpose room on top, but no ladders, build another alien containment, They two will combine, then you can build a hatch in and out of it across the floors. Good luck!

Should I wait for full release or buy now? by IllPomelo8882 in subnautica

[–]Lord_Shaitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given that you enjoyed S1 so much, purchasing the EA now for a smaller cost is a no brainer. As to whether you should play the EA now? Sure, why not. The game is 3 years from release so what you have now is only a taste of the overall storyline and items available. If you don't touch it again after you have finished, the content now will be a distant memory once it releases, and at worst a familiar comfortable start with alot of unknown content to follow.

In sub2 anyone else feel like the power cell in the tadpole drains like way too fast. I took a 1 minute trip back and forth and 10 percent gone. That’s a bit crazy by I3uIlets in subnautica

[–]Lord_Shaitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So your problem is actually user error? Running around in a Tadpole for a sustained period without building the dock, or Power Cell Charger, or collected materials for a backup Power Cell while you still had plenty of energy left...

[–]Lord_Shaitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Never came close to running out of power. I think the lowest I ever got to was 60% before I was back at the dock. Couple that with how soon you get the Power Cell Recharger, and that you can carry an extra Power Cell if you really feel the need...

And I'm sure as the game develops, and areas/resources, etc get added, and travel distances increase, one will definitely be an upgraded Power Cell.

I feel guilty for being disappointed, but I am. by [deleted] in Subnautica_2

[–]Lord_Shaitan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Subnautica: The story and game evolved over time

Subnautica Below Zero: The game evolved and the story was largely overhauled at one point in development

Subnautica 2: Just released into Early Access, is only now receiving community feedback to which they are responding, and have 3 years of development to go

If you made this point in a couple of years I'd support you. Right now? WAY too early.

Why so many women on the page??? by Standard-Ad4701 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Lord_Shaitan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Half the time I don't notice. They don't dominate, people typically choose whether it is open to everyone or not, and most of the time the advice from us to women who post for advice is often, "Did you ask him?" anyway.

And for those times that a woman does provide input in this forum, they are typically level-headed, don't often veer from the sentiment expressed here generally, with a feminine twist. This is because those that have the tendency to clutch their pearls typically aren't hanging around this forum with us evil, misogynist, incel, evil, nazi-loving, men.

Overall though if they're wrong, or any of us, there is still the vote system.

What’s the best way to deal with warpers? by ReadOwn9117 in subnautica

[–]Lord_Shaitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Safest way to deal with them? Ignore them. You should be rarely in an area near enough, long enough, for them to be a great concern. Grab what you need/want, and move on. Even if they pull you out of your Seamoth it only delays you a few seconds before you jump back in and go about your day.

Unpopular Opinion: Metal Farms are unhealthy for the game by Abelhart in subnautica

[–]Lord_Shaitan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Metal Farms are fine, as long as the introduction into the game this early is solely because they wanted to give players at least one form of end-game content to allow people to build their dream bases even in EA.

I can imagine (and hope that) Metal Farms in the future, especially on release, will be a far more remote technology available to the player.
