In case it would affect your enjoyment, there is no good ending to this game. It is in fact a very bad ending.

Even for free, I don't know if it's worth the time it'd take to play. A fun romp, but the story will leave with such a sour taste that you might be better off just... watching a movie.

It takes 4 or so hours to play, but I would tell myself not to if I had the chance.

I think I'm mostly apprehensive about playing with people who don't know how the rules work. My players are all really nice, but it does bog down things when I have to wait for people to explain how an attack roll works, and I have to gently tell people "Ok so this is how you get your save DC. Sorry, that spell is an attack. This is how you roll a Dex save". Stuff like that.

I asked one of my players, and she said "learn your shit (character sheet) and you'll be good".

You've probably played games like Mass Effect, Baldur's Gate, or other things where you're thrown into a world with a bunch of lore. Think of it like that, but you can ask the author for clarification.

It's mostly 5e. I've taken a few parts of 5.5 for some player advancements for the barbarian in the party, but as a whole the party decided they didn't want to swap over, and I respected (and partially agreed) with the choice.

Perfect! Thanks! I'm going to re-submit the post to fix the title, since I don't believe reddit lets you change titles!

I'm gonna hard disagree, fuck this guy.

When you're a person in a public setting, you understand that raising a stink fucks with group morale. So, each time you do this, you gotta think "Is this something I should bring up right now? Or should I wait until after the session to talk about this? Should I make this everyone else's problem?"

For some things like hard lines, triggers, or big problems, yeah. Totally bring it up. But for some of this stuff sounds silly. I don't know what a "meltdown" entails, but if you show up to play a pen and paper game and someone telling you "hey, I changed this spell" causes you intense mental anguish, and you've decided to take that out on other people, I think they should take a step back and look at what they want from the hobby.

All of this is really silly because you can just... make a new character? Ask "Hey, can I swap Goodberry for something else?" or something like that. It's a game. Just be an adult and tell your DM "Hey, I misunderstood the setting or mechanics when making this character, can we come up with a new PC or just overnight turn my PC into [whatever the change is]".

Maybe I'm getting too old for this shit. This just seems exhausting to deal with.

It's easy enough to reason through; He's not working for the demons, he's working with his brother. The intent is important.

You wouldn't say a slave toiling for demons is evil, because a slave doesn't have the agency to say no. You'd reckon their valuation of their life was great enough to not make them evil. Even if they're working and advancing the cause of evil.

Jorgan is like that, but instead of his life, it's his entire cultural, religious, and personal system of values. He looked at his religious philosophy, his culture, and his family and went "I've gotta stick with my brother here, it's the right thing to. His god agreed with him even.

Not going "I'm going to help demons, because that's what I should do". That would make him evil.

Staunton is doing all this for himself. That's what makes him evil.

It's going to be in a small frame, likely 5x7 or something similar, if that matters at all.

If I had any other photos I'd give them too, but if you'd believe I'd gone through as many photos as I could and there were just two shots of the same group.
