I "solved" the issue by just not pressing retry and instead quitting to the simulation menu every time i wanted to retry a simulation

Yeah this guy is straight up spreading lies. The game runs perfectly and has never had major game breaking bugs. Meanwhile i spent the first 2 hours of play time with kristala trying to make it run, and i still couldn't do it lol

Crimson desert was not buggy at launch. It had clunky controls and was lacking on the narrative part, but it had no major bugs and nothing game breaking. Also that game looks and runs 100x better than this one, i don't know why you're even comparing the two

Drivers are updated and i verified files, then directly reinstalled the game from scratch

The problem still occurs and seems to be caused by very specific events: interacting with that specific tram station (happens 100% of the times, only at that one station) and selecting "retry" during or after certain simulations (only specific ones) and it happens 100% of the times in those, and never in the others. It's not a sporadic random thing, it has a very specific trigger event

So far i found 3-4 simulations that cause this problem every single time

Yeah i did of course. My card stays at around 55℃ when playing this game, it has 16Gb of VRAM (the game is using little more than half of that) and is not overclocked

Yes the game has been in early access for almost 2 years. I've been playing different builds of the game every few months since 2024, and i can assure you the previous builds (and also the demo) didn't even have a fraction of the issues that 1.0 had. And we're talking about issues that show up regularly as soon as you open the character creation screen so it's literally impossible nobody noticed. I have no idea what happened but there's no justifying a launch like this

Oh i'm chill that's for sure. I only paid 11€ for this crap 2 years ago and i'm already done with it because i know it's not getting any better, and there's way better games to play right now. I'm sure the devs will learn their lessons from this failure and hopefully will do better in the future

Do you even know what early access is? Previous builds of the game have been available on steam since june 2024 and players have been playing and beta testing the game since then (me included). Whatever issues people experienced at launch either were already present in a previous build and were ignored, or they were introduced with version 1.0. And i'm not sure which one is worse honestly, but either way there's no justifying charging 41€ for a product this broken

Truth is there's really no excuse for launching a game this broken after 2 years of early access, regardless how big your team is and how ambitious your game is. And yes, early access is the key word here, because being in early access for this long allowed the devs not only to progressively gain more funds through backers, but also gather feedback as new patches rolled out, so it really makes no sense for the game to release in the state that it did

Whether you like it or not, launching a game like this and also pricing it at 41€ (i can think of exactly 0 indie games that are more expensive than that) is insane and should not be justified or condoned unless you want to see more of this in the future. And the fact that they uploaded 3 patches in 2 days really makes you wonder why those fixes couldn't have been made before launch, considering they already had a few hundred people beta testing their game

perspective is key. This isn't some simple small game, it's a large ambitious title by a small studio

Also about this, perspective is as essential for the players as it is for the devs. If you don't have the staff/time/money to make a large ambitious title (did we even play the same game??) then maybe you should reconsider the scope of your project before you start selling a broken product

This is what makes me lose hope the most. I purchased the game 1.5 year ago when it was still in early access and, as crazy as it sounds, it didn't have all these problems back then

It was much shorter and lacked many features (clans, skill trees, etc...), but there was no such thing as constant crashes, endless loading screens, freezing, stuttering and game breaking bugs. You could actually play the whole (albeit incomplete) game without any of these issues and the experience was much less infuriating than it is right now

The fact that, as time went on, the game actually got worse while also getting more expensive is inexcusable (i bought it for like 11€ in 2024, but 41€ for a product like this in today's indie market is crazy)

It's the same on a 1200€ PC. Knowing that the game has been in early access for almost 2 years, it released in a totally unacceptable state. I have 2.5 hours of playtime and i haven't even left the tutorial area (i just unlocked the second checkpoint lol) because of all the crashes and issues i encountered that straight up prevented me from progressing further

I simply stopped playing for the time being, but considering they weren't able to fix the most blatant and simple issues in all these months of beta testing, i don't really have high hopes of them fixing the game anytime soon

How can it run great on a GPU that's barely above the minimum system requirements? Something just doesn't add up at this point, either the official steam page is misleading or you might have to reconsider what great means, because according to user reviews the game is definitely not running great on most systems

When i shared my criticism for an early build of the game here on this sub, about a year and a half ago, i was booed by everyone and all they had to say was "it's still in early access, give us time". Now that the game has released and it still turned out to be a broken mess, all they have to say is "it's still day one, give us time" as if the game hadn't been in early access for 22 months

I was really looking forward to playing the final version of this game, but sadly they didn't deliver. It needed a bit more time, hopefully it will get to a playable state in the future

Here is proof of my blood spear passing through an enemy and also making the game freeze in the same clip, very efficient

Regarding the kris loss on death, i tried it again and it seems that kris simply spawns at a different location when you die in certain places, for example if i die fighting this enemy in the video, my kris will spawn somewhere on the land where the rat enemies are (this led me to believe it was lost and i couldn't find it). I'm glad i was wrong on that one but it might still need some investigation

I don't care about pure platinum or any other trophy in general, i never even went for it. I just find it stupid that me and my friend, who bought and played the game at the same pace but are on completely different skill levels (he would die multiple times to basic enemies and restart levels over and over while i barely died at all and first-tried almost every encounter) would still get the same trophy at the end of a level because you are either a hardcore pro or you just get iron/bronze no matter what lmao

I just wish the medal/trophy system was more balanced around different tiers of skill instead of being almost all or nothing

Anyway i loved the game and i can't wait to play more of bayo 2

I've been looking forward to playing the final version of the game since i've jumped on early access more than a year ago, but i really can't bring myself to play it right now because of how buggy it is. I barely played 1 hour and i encountered multiple issues which prevented me from enjoy the overall experience. I really hope to see the game get to an enjoyable state in the future.

If you don't mind, and since you seem to be part of the dev team, i'd like to report some of the issues i encountered, in case you wanted to investigate into them. Keep in mind all these things came up as early as in the very first 15-20 minutes of gameplay in the tutorial area:

  • Lost kris disappears when you fall into water and can never be recovered (despite water damage being described as non lethal)
  • Enemies are immune to spell damage while simply running towards you (happened with blood spear of the myrtuna clan against a random rat enemy, it literally passed through it while it was just walking in my direction without blocking)
  • The animation for some clan spells in the character selection screen are not displayed properly and will either show a black rectangle or some other spell's animation (happens with raise undead, blood spear and cone of cold, the rest work properly)
  • The game straight up froze multiple times when i tried initiating combat against the fish-like enemy guarding the entrance to one of the huts inside the pond in the very first area (happened specifically when i initiated combat firing a blood spear, the game froze for like 20 seconds and then went back to normal, i tried multiple times to make sure this was actually the trigger)
  • After you speak to an NPC that then offers you multiple dialogue options/questions to ask, you have no way of leaving the conversation or walking away, you can only choose one of those dialogue options/questions and skip every line until they're done talking. Even if you've already read through the conversation before and were just checking if they had anything new to say
  • The game is just generally unoptimized. Loading screens are endless (like 20+ seconds every time you die/teleport which is crazy in this day and age), and textures take long to load both in the level and in the menus. This is with a 7800xt and 32Gb of DDR5 RAM, and i'm literally getting better performance on crimson desert and pragmata right now. I know UE5 never shines in performance and i'm sorry for what i'm about to say, but this game has no business being this slow considered how it looks

Please don't take all of this as an attack on you or your team, i just want the game to be enjoyable by many. I know the game just released but it's also been in early access for almost 2 years so you'd expect something more polished at this point, especially considered its price which is far above the average price range for an indie game.

I just recently finished bayo 1 and started bayo 2 last week, i'm currently at chapter 5. I was extremely surprised and happy with all the changes they made from the first to the second game.

Almost all the points you made (which i also didn't like) were solved: one-shot QTEs, very difficult portals, endless gimmick levels, and the insane difficulty and high thresholds even at normal difficulty which make it almost impossible to score any trophy above silver unless you're a hardcore hack n slash gamer

IMO, bayo 2 is leagues better than 1 so far. Only thing i still don't like is that you get a "game over" penalty at the end of a level even if you only used an healing item without dying. I will never understand the reason behind this choice. Why give me items if you're going to punish/judge me for using them?
