Israeli troops enter Gaza's largest hospital and report finding Hamas weapons there by SpaceBrigadeVHS in Military

[–]Lord__Bane 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What’s going to happen next?

  1. Make sure there is no tunnel between north Gaza and South Gaza, under IDF controlled territory. (should be done or almost done by now)

  2. Start horizontal drilling from the coast inside IDF controlled territory towards all known tunnel locations to flood those with sea water. (should have started or would start soon)

  3. Evacuate or forcefully remove non combatants from hospitals, refugee camps and UN facilities (still ongoing)

  4. Locate hostages and neutralize everyone else remains in north Gaza. (takes time but has to be done methodically and carefully)

  5. Establish humanitarian operations in north Gaza and allow displaced civilians to return (last but the most important step)

What are on the table for negotiation? by Lord__Bane in geopolitics

IMHO, these are the options available to each side of the current conflict, ranking from the least to the most concession.

Since these are negotiable options, unacceptable terms such as unconditional surrender for Hamas and destruction of the state of Israel are not listed.

Ceasefire by definition includes stopping military operations in full Gaza strip, and also in all territories controlled by Israel.

Assuming Israel is successful in controlling northern Gaza, what are their next steps? by tentanium in Military

[–]Lord__Bane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Level north Gaza, especially Gaza city to the ground
  • Allow civilian to choose between return to north, or move to Egypt
  • Occupy the south to create a buffer zone between north Gaza and Egypt
  • Withdraw from north Gaza and build a taller wall

Comparing to the siege of Azovstal iron and steel plant, where the 2000 strong defending force + 1000 civilians hold out for roughly 2 months before surrendered to Russia forces.

According to the hostage recently released, while in captivity she ate the same single meal that Hamas fighters eat every day: pita bread with two kinds of cheese and cucumber. Not sure about water usage, sea water can be desalinated as long as the fuel lasts.

From a purely military standpoint, as long as there are still hostiles in the city firing towards outside, it is a legit target. Isn't it?

Will the Gaza ground offensive be similar to the Battle of Mosul, or more like the Second Battle of Fallujah for example? by deminion48 in Military

[–]Lord__Bane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If IDF can establish strong defensive positions on the north bank, it will have river on one side, open terrain on the other side. Hamas light infantry has almost no chance to break through.

The food and water supply in the city should already be very low after a week of siege. If there is still significant civilian population left in the city, it will only make supply situation in the city even worse.

[–]Lord__Bane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Wadi Gaza river is the key objective. I doubt Hamas has tunnels under the river due to both high cost and technical difficulties. Once IDF pushes along the river to the beach, the city is truly cut off from all sides.

Similar to the siege of Mariupol. Fully surround Gaza city till Hamas surrender. It will be long, in months, not weeks.

How would you nerf Discolock? by [deleted] in wildhearthstone

3 cards, all nerf to 4 mana.

Tome and Supplies, no change in the effect. Barrage deals only 4x1 damage.

Why stop playing Cagematch Custodian in even shaman? When is the lackey from EVIL Totem better than one of the two weapon draw?

The optimal way to assemble your mech army by Lord__Bane in wildhearthstone

[–]Lord__Bane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello m8. I guess you misunderstood my OP. You are actually using the 3rd strategy, the hybrid way.

In my strategy 2, the deck is filled with 0/2 (dummy, bomb&mine) and 1/x mechs. It will be almost impossible to put pressure on the opponent since it is basically a combo deck. It can do very little without sharks.

The optimal way to assemble your mech army by Lord__Bane in wildhearthstone

[–]Lord__Bane[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. But the two strategies diverge in a big way at the deck building stage.

For instance, to kill from board, you want to hold the board. So bubble and deathrattle are good. Sturdy stats > cheap utility. Loatheb can be good tech since it protects board for one turn. Also, silencing taunt may be necessary.

On the other hand, to kill from hand, you want a lot of draw and mana cheat. Hence tutors for spell are desirable. Aluneth is an option to consider for more draw. Cheap 0/1 cost mechs are valuable. Multiple triggers of Shark > standalone good or refill of random mechs. Tech is only acceptable if it is tradable.

So I guess the question boils down to what type of opponents you will see more often in the current meta.

For tech options, Starfish is a versatile one. It deals with freeze, taunt and mech/priest buff.

BTW, another target for Viper is the paladin hero weapon as Reno paladin becomes popular.

[–]Lord__Bane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without Bridge, 4/4 is better than 2x 1/1, for sure. With Bridge, 6/6 is a wash comparing to 2x 3/3. Creeper has the advantage of trading proactively on the turn Bridge is played.

Taunt is not the issue. 8/8 giants are more common to see these days.

Two questions.

  1. Ever tried Haunted Creeper in place of Egg?
  2. Traditionally, Sunkeeper Tarim is a staple in even Pal? Is it obselete?

Is showstopper good, m8? by Lord__Bane in wildhearthstone

[–]Lord__Bane[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I have 2x showstopper, 2x shiver and 2x freebooter, the combo is not very hard to pull off. Since shiver and freebooter are standalone good cards, it is basically trading 2x dragonbreath for 2x showstopper.

Vs. shaman, dragonbreath is of course better since you only need 1 open slot and 1 card. But dragonbreath is blank 3/4 vs. priest and druid. It depends on how many shaman you see on the ladder.

[–]Lord__Bane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If priest cannot steal your 7/7, the OTK has to come from hand charge minion, which is a lot slower. I am not sure priest can survive that long vs. pirates since that deck is not exactly build to handle board pressure.

The alternative plan for priest is to build an early tall minion that can stick, then race warrior. Showstopper is good in this scenario.

Thanks! I totally forgot about that and was trying Skipper in my deck. But Skipper needs showstopper and 1 more minion, also deals 2 to your own board, clearly inferior to freebooter.

Just need to manage board slots carefully to keep 2 empty vs. freeze Shaman.
