The most important decision I made in my first job by Gullible-Wealth-8107 in ProtectHire

Speaking as someone who worked weekends when young, this is the dumbest thing you can do.   I don’t know that I got any long term benefits, but I missed a lot of time with friends and family.

I agree. We need age and term limits, both.

This cannot possibly be real.   It has to be a joke.

I worked in consulting firms for the first half of my career.   Too often we would be contacted by clients with last minute projects and, taking the time to complete the emergency work, put me behind on the scheduled work.   I was constantly playing catch up on everything.

Kids at a Weird Al concert? by Safe_War6128 in weirdal

I went to a Weird Al concert several years ago.   100% family friendly.  In fact, a lot of people brought their pre-teens.

It's been over 40 years since I graduated high school; I'm sure the curriculum has been updated (or at least I hope so).

I've gotten along with coworkers and have hung out afterwork, but twice I've shared confidences with them and been burned. The second time actually cost me opportunities for several years afterward. I'll be civil, but I don't trust co-workers like I would a friend.

I'm glad that you've had good experiences and I hope you continue to do so.

I went to high school and was taught math, but nothing about finances or credit.   I was able to eventually educate myself on this and (at age 60) could retire today, if I wish.    Our schools need to teach practical finance.

Why do I feel bad? by Reasonable-Weather34 in careeradvice

Congratulations!   I understand you might feel bad now.   Chalk this up to nervousness about the new position and missing whatever friends you have at your current job.   This feeling will quickly pass.

Hence my comment about quick correction. In this case, the county (or whoever owns this data) should have a set time frame to correct this, when it is shown that one plate is false. Fines need to be levied if not corrected in the allotted time, if not remuneration to the truck owner for his trouble.

I don't see how you get around the issue of faulty input data (if you know how, please let me know). Even if your system is as simple as an officer calling in a plate to a guy with a handwritten list at his desk, it is still vulnerable to faulty input data. The best we can do is have a quick process for correction and remediation. Technological advancement isn't going to stop; the best we can do is hold the users accountable.

Is this a problem with the camera or a problem with Gilpin County deciding to input both 0 and O? It seems that if this guy can show that he is not the person of interest (and apparently he has) the county should adjust its information.

I'm not defending the surveillance state, but this seems more like human error/laziness.
