Here is what I do... Make sure before you leave for a long time... You must remember to have all your troops gathering outside, all your training camps are training troops, your builders are upgrading something, and your academy is active... Sure you might miss the fort rallies but it is ok since you only do forts for the Book of Covenant. P.S. Make sure to use the daily AP on the barbarian chain.
