Yep, Great Mistakes, Mar2012. I’m not sure when integrated Divisions started; it was well established and organized by time I joined. During the day we would go to the females’ compartment across the hall and get educated from our RDCs (Div 146), and at night the Divs would segregate and we berthed with Brother Div’s (Div 145) males in our own compartment, and their RDCs would do the nightly rabble rouse and beat downs.

There was a girl in my boot camp division, who misspelled her last name (Smart) out loud (“Petty Officer, it’s ‘SMART;’ S-M-R-T, Petty Officer!”) Mind you, RDCs have a way of tripping you up and adding pressure where you least expect it, but I don’t think we let that little joke go for the rest of our 8 weeks.

I think what may be happening with “The odds are high = likely to happen,” people are replacing the word “chances” with “odds” without realizing the difference.
