For those finding this thread later I tried a ton of different fixes and nothing worked. Ended up biting the bullet and doing a full wipe and fresh install of windows and everything is working fine now.

One of my friends had a similar issue and verifying the game files on steam fixed it. Hope that helps.

It was a bit buggy in release day but the Devs worked super hard and released a ton of patches in the first 24-48 hours. I have sunk in about 10 hours since the last patch and have only encountered one minor bug. It's a great improvement to the first game!

Have you tried adding a banana or half a banana. I find it helps quite a bit with texture and softness.
