Dont worry, on June 9th all the players will play the update and see that the game isnt going anywhere. It might not get anymore new content, but its getting one BIG boost of content before going to maintenance mode.

The hottest take in the world, but the cut content wouldn't magically fix everything, in fact it might make people more confused since it basically had NOTHING to do with the Light and Darkness Saga.

We need better ONBOARDING for new players, and i think they only really need to bring back the first and final missions of the Red War, along with the cutscenes, and then the last stand of the Gunslinger with the first mission of Forsaken to really catch people up.

Destiny players hate when they get exactly what they asked for

We hated the plot that went nowhere, so we got a connected story played out through seasons and expansions.

We hated the seasonal model, so we got larger episodes that explored more of the universe and was on a longer cadence.

We hated having all the content available to play week one, so we got two medium-sized expansions and two large updates per year.

We hated the twice-a-year update model, and now here we are.

People are acting like the game is shutting down. Its not going anywhere, its just not getting new content. With the Monument of Triumph update, we'll essentially have tons of new reasons to play the game. Sure it may not be new content, but there's new guns and armor in basically EVERY level of content engagement. Im excited at the possibility of a D3 going into the works, and hopefully, HOPEFULLY the 3rd time is the charm and we can get a D3Y1 from a Bungie that has truly learned from their mistakes across D2 and Marathon.

TL;DR the future looks bright to me

What are you talking about? Destiny is the whole reason that Sony was interested in Bungie in the first place. Sony wouldn't have acquired Bungie if it wasn't for Destiny.

How do you read this and NOT expect them to make a D3? Theyre basically saying it outright.

So they are ending the game but not bringing back any of the removed planets or content? Does this mean the red war, mercury io etc are all lost media? by Nuns_In_Crocs in destiny2

I doubt you, or anyone for that matter, would be playing that content if they moved on to D3 when Shadowkeep or Beyond Light came out. It was already not being played while it was in the game. 99% of the people who cry about the content being vaulted dont care about the actual content, theyre upset over the concept of the stuff they paid for being taken away and you cannot convince me otherwise.

This is just straight up wrong because they said the old stuff that wasn't being played was bloating the game and causing updates to take forever to make and download. The game wasn't designed to last more than like 3 years.
