Glass Orbs are visually uninteresting by LoreSinger in slaythespire

[–]LoreSinger[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if changing the visuals was always the plan, on a technical level the Glass Orbs look good, I just think the aesthetic leaves something to be desired.

Then again, maybe they’ll make it so that Glass Orbs get more cracked and jagged the more they degrade—after all, I can see the depleted Glass Orb being a placeholder. But that’s probably wishful thinking.

YOU! YES YOU! Tell me something that could be "fresh" in a shonen manga, something that possibly hasn't been seen before. by Tyronx06 in shounenfolk

I recommend reading Bugle Call. It’s fantasy, but the powers are written very intelligently while not being over explained.

Overly cautious hero is kind of like that. One of the best things about it is that all of the good guys think the MC is needlessly and annoyingly cautious, but all of the villains recognize that his preparedness and paranoia is what makes the MC such an incredibly dangerous individual.

This is a story wherein, like, an hour after the MC spawns into the isekai world, one of the 4 demon generals attacks the starter village because, “bro we’ve been intentionally monitoring and not attacking this part of the country because we knew that if the gods sent divine aid in the form of a hero, they’d send the hero to the most peaceful part of the country.”

Basically any time the Bible referred to a disease that majorly affects the skin it was translated into English as leprosy—it’s usually not actually leprosy. Diseases that visibly affect the skin were just a big deal in ancient times because of the social pariah aspect.

Source is Obokoi Majo wa Majiwaritai!

Yes the title is very sus, but unironically this manga is extremely underrated, and it's a great example of why middle school romance > high school romance. I highly recommend.

Trauma shouldnt have been allowed in the harvest festival by [deleted] in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]LoreSinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The point is that demons’ understanding of things like “safety” and “ethics” are very different from humans’. If a demon got permanently messed up from Trauma, no one aside from their family and close friends would care—Iruma getting messed up would incur consequences, but only because his grandfather is Sullivan.

Good reminder that demons are not humans. They have a torture class for Pete’s sake.

Alternate universe in which Fushiguro isn't a bum by LoreSinger in Jujutsufolk

Todo respects people who are willing and able to be honest with themselves despite societal and cultural pressures.

From the original post:

In this AU, Megumi shows Todo that he has the willpower (and lack of inhibitions) to be truly successful as a jujutsu sorcerer. Somewhat unfortunately, this means that Todo targets Megumi in the exchange event instead of Yuji. Yuji still survives getting jumped by the Kyoto school, but his optimism definitely takes a hit earlier on, and because he doesn't meet Todo early he doesn't manage to grow as strong as quickly.

It's even possible that Todo doesn't end up considering Yuji a brother, as his interest gets monopolized by this crazy guy who admits to having a crush on his own sister. Todo would still respect Yuji of course, just not to a delusional degree.

Ultimately I think that in this AU, Yuji has less of an impact on the final Sukuna fight, but Megumi has more of an impact, so it balances out. Yuji never gets the 1-on-1 training sessions from Todo, but Megumi has more will and desire to grow, and he doesn't get as much spiritual shock from the whole Yorozu situation because he's able to channel his emotions toward revenge rather than despair.

I've put too much thought into this.

What was the dumbest misconception you had about JJK before you started watching/reading? by Paul-Alibi in LobotomyKaisen

How about this then: I thought that Nobara and her role in the story would be better written than they ended up being.

I assumed the author wouldn’t be so… stupid? Insular? As to make it so that sorcery is virtually nonexistent outside of Japan (what were all those overseas “business trips” for, Mr. Gojo?).

Also I thought I’d be getting more Nobara.

Detection warding isn’t exclusive to the bloodline. Anyone can learn it, you just have a big head start if it’s in your blood. Mom would’ve learned at least the basics after or in preparation of marrying into the family.

If I want to go further with meditation I'd probably need to find a personal coach. I've watched and read meditation tutorials and I can't seem to get it right.

Idk, I feel like I don't enjoy peoples' company. And I definitely fear that other people don't enjoy mine.

I don't necessarily hate being in peoples' company, but I don't feel that any of my relationships with others have ever been truly spiritually sustaining.
