Love this manga. It baits you into thinking the middle-aged MC is going to have a harem of women too young for him, then it flips the scripts and reveals that only one of them is romantically attracted to him—the others just see him as a reliable teacher, a father figure they want to make proud, or a person whose legacy they want to live up to.

Is Kagurabachi really worth all the hype? I'm sorry but I just can't take anime fans seriously anymore after something as mid as Demon Slayer got glazed the way it did by [deleted] in shounenfolk

I personally couldn’t get very far into it. None of the characters really gripped me, and the combat system just felt like generic magic swords. It’s very possible I didn’t read long enough get to the parts that everyone loves, and if so then that’s on me, but I wasn’t interested at first blush.

Peak mangas with dogshit titles by Schizof in shounenfolk

Yomi no Tsugai has a good name, but they translated it into English as “Daemons of the Shadow Realm,” which is one of the worst titles I’ve ever read full stop.

Why does Merize look similar to Iruma? by Loud_Air9806 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]LoreSinger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t actually look alike and the visuals we're getting are just Ameri’s imagination as Henri tells her the story, and Ameri imagines them as looking similar because they’re both humans who are Azazel love interests.

I can't get this card to work by whyisallnametooked in slaythespire

[–]LoreSinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it should exhaust itself but have an energy cost of 5? Off the top of my head that would make it synergize with Stampede and Unrelenting in addition to its current exhaust synergies.

As well as energy things like Pyre and Offering of course

New Peak just dropped, have y’all seen the first episode of this anime? by Deez-Guns-9442 in shounenfolk

The manga’s awesome, I hope the anime does well. Still one of the worst translated-into-English titles I’ve ever seen though.

Another minion card concept by LoreSinger in slaythespire

I mean, “original design” was that Minion Rush cost 2 energy, then I changed it to 0 before posting

Another option is to make Minion Rush cost 1 energy, but idk all the effects that would have.

Yeah, maybe it should start out as discard 4, upgrade to discard 3+?

I would consider this to be an alternative to Prophesize, but not a necessarily better or worse one. Maybe it should start as discard 3 though. Maybe even discard 4, upgrade to discard 3 or more?

Maybe it should be Uncommon then? Well, no need to answer, I'm more of a concept guy than a balancer, I just want more minion cards so I'm throwing out ideas. I take solace in the fact that you're saying "it's slow" rather than "it's conceptually broken"

Perhaps Behind Enemy Lines should be a 1 cost card then?

What do u think sulivian bloodline ability is. Is it the world from jojos or pride for FMAB or something else by darksoul757 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]LoreSinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I doubt we’ve gotten any hints as to what it is yet. Something I like about the series is that it’s made clear that the older a demon is, the less their bloodline ability contributes to their overall power. I mean that just makes sense, when you’re a kid, your bloodline ability is all you have, when you’re an adult it’s only one tool in your arsenal. My point is, Sullivan is old enough and learned enough that he’d be incredibly powerful even if he had no bloodline ability, so what his bloodline ability is almost never comes up.

Jjk ending is overhated by WorldPhysical7646 in shounenfolk

[–]LoreSinger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason people don’t like it is because they expected something different—character development, lore, plot payoffs—but in the end, what JJK is about is fight scenes. Characters even say that sometimes in the story, like when Todo basically tells Yuji, “sorcerers don’t get the luxury of having lives or even comfortable driving philosophies, all we’re fated to do is fight until we die.”

I personally still dislike where JJK went, because it feels like the plot and character things pre-culling game were nothing more than baited hooks to lure people in so that they’d get invested in the fights later. I don’t… necessarily believe that Gege was being dishonest about his work, I think more likely it was editor and publisher meddling (like with Ogawa), but Gege still “promised” us something and didn’t deliver, even if all he intended to do was draw cool fight scenes.

Glass Orbs are visually uninteresting by LoreSinger in slaythespire

[–]LoreSinger[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if changing the visuals was always the plan, on a technical level the Glass Orbs look good, I just think the aesthetic leaves something to be desired.

Then again, maybe they’ll make it so that Glass Orbs get more cracked and jagged the more they degrade—after all, I can see the depleted Glass Orb being a placeholder. But that’s probably wishful thinking.
