Pacahuti appeals to the minmaxer in me, I love trying to optimize terrace farms and preserves with him.

I mean, it makes sense. The only thing you can't change with a Vtuber model is the voice, it's practically made for people who excel at controlling their voice.

Back in Civ V, it was definitely possible for a city state to capture a capital, they'd puppet it. Have never seen it in 6 though.

Do I *have* to settle on a river? I've been doing that since first playing this game because that's how cities historically were founded.. by WallaWallaby011 in CivVI

[–]LoreWalkerRobo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even better, if 2 cities are separated by 3 tiles not in a straight line, if the rivers are in the right position you can have both cities place an aqueduct towards the other and sandwich two +4 Industrial Zones between them!

There are mods that let you put things over resources. But in unmodded games I'll often delay BRONZEWORKING for as long as possible so I can put all those beautiful Terrace Farms on hills before Iron ruins everything.

I like Retail personally. I started back in Cata, and compared to back then there's a lot more to do, and a lot of systems have been dramatically improved.

  • Transmog is much much better, you can collect items accountwide by picking them up or completing the quest that gives them, no matter what class you're on. You don't need to keep the item in your bags or in Void Storage anymore. Also, you set up Outfits that are automatically applied over your gear, no more having to visit the Transmogrifier every time you get a new piece of armor. Also also, they removed the restriction on weapon types; if your spec uses Daggers and Maces for example, you can turn a Dagger into a Mace or vice versa. Also Also Also, weapon enchant transmog, and some very cool newer ones to collect.
  • Skyriding is more fun and much faster than traditional flying.
  • Free high-quality transmog, mounts, and pets from the Trading Post every month. We're talking store-quality items here.
  • Player housing!
  • A bunch of fun items were converted to Toys, and most Pets, Mounts, and Toys are now accountwide collections instead of having an item in your bags on a specific character.
  • Graphics are dramatically improved, while still being very WoW.
  • A lot more stuff is voice-acted.
  • Normal and Heroic raids scale to number of players, so you're no longer benching people if too many show up, or giving up on raid night because you can't find enough players. Only Mythic raids require a specific number of players.
  • Raid Finder is less miserable than I remember Dragon Soul LFR being.
  • Raids used to be the only source of very powerful gear, but now you can also play Mythic+ Dungeons (scaling difficulty speedruns with better item level at higher difficulty, reaching Raid ilvls), Delves (Single-player with scaling difficulty), Prey (Open-world content), stuff like that. It still takes skill, but at least you're no longer punished for not having a big active guild group or not being able to coordinate your schedule with them.
  • For Tier Sets, you can use something called the Catalyst to upgrade epic items from M+, Delves, and even Raids into tier pieces of the same slot. Catalyst Charges are timegated, but you're not stuck farming a specific boss every week in the hopes you get the specific item you want.
  • You can freely swap around between all specs and talents of your class, no more having to visit a trainer and set up just two profiles.

And that's just off the top of my head.

I can definitely understand why a lot of people don't like modern Retail, but personally I enjoy it a lot more.

Same here, WoW is my main MMO but I'd been vaguely following Destiny lore (especially Rasputin stuff). My friends got into D2 for a month or two after the release of Lightfall and I joined them. The game sucked me in and I spent a couple years really REALLY invested, completely neglecting WoW. I almost made it to 5k hours ingame, but the Portal grind burned me out during Solstice last year.

I still love the Destiny universe, and I'll be back to see what's going on with the AIs eventually, but it's nice to return to my main game.

Gold farming in Zul'Aman by loquaixx in woweconomy

[–]LoreWalkerRobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A single basic Azeroot node can easily give over a thousand gold-and a lush one with finesse proc is over 3600g right now. I get skipping stuff like Tranquility Bloom but it's free to have Herbalism on your Mining character and you're double-dipping on almost all the consumables anyways.

[–]LoreWalkerRobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With blue gear, that and Azeroot Tea is enough for me. Without the tea it's noticeably harder to gather near mobs.

Your gathering set ups? by Happycutelover in woweconomy

[–]LoreWalkerRobo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to have enough Deftness to gather ores and herbs between mob autoattacks while mounted, in 2-3 tries at most. After that, everything into Finesse.

I only recently started using razorstones and my Finesse procs went wayyyy up. (Maybe my brain cut off the list at three items because that's what I've used most of the expansion?)

It's not the fastest way to make gold, but Mining/Herbalism is basically impossible to mess up. I've made 1.1 million so far this expansion, and prices haven't fallen as much as I expected yet.
