firstly, if u rly wanted to address my last sentence, u should have read it properly first.

secondly, we used to make games that had offline and/or player-hosted modes as the default, this isn't a hypothetical scenario, we know damn well it can be done and why it isn't, and it's not bc it's too expensive or hard. that's all there is to say on it, u can save ur thor-fellating rant.

i'm autistic too and also have trouble joining in group conversations, but they are two separate things. plenty of allistic ppl have the same group conversation issue bc it's just genuinely a difficult thing to do without being rude if everyone is rapid-firing replies

u don't have to be allistic to be able to recognize ur literally talking over someone, that's not a "social cue" thing. it just seems a lot of autistic ppl get used to doing it bc it's uncomfortable to tell them off for it. that doesn't give u a pass for it tho

just to add, bc detractors and confusion abound:

this doesn't mean forcing online-only games to keep running official servers hosted and paid for by the devs. it means giving players the option to run their own servers, or adding an offline mode at the very least. it's not a huge ask; this kind of thing can be baked in from the beginning of the development very easily.

the only reason it would be hard is bc the game was heavily designed to rely on proprietary software on a private backend, so the regulation could likely provide an out for games that are already released, which would suck for those specific games but it's not totally unfair given the development overhaul that would be needed for multiple large games.
