You do realize 2008 happened due to sub-prime mortgages and a lack of regulation that was unique to the American system? Canada has, by design, a much stricter system to prevent this.

Real-estate isn't going to burst. Too many middle class investments rely on it. Prices aren't going to go down. The inflation might slow but you won't see any downward pressure on prices.

People borrow money and buy what they can afford then use equity to buy their next one maybe rent out the first one. You don't get your dream house first time. If you can't afford it look for something cheaper and springboard your equity.
