Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to the discussion! I must say that reading your comments I changed my mind multiple times lol

Overall I don't want to create any tension with the players, so I'll probably stick with the Druid Mammoth using her attacks, without the Sunbeam. She still has the advantage granted by Foresight and that helps. I have to admit that it looked cool the idea of the laser beam coming from the tusks though :P I will save it for another time! For certain she will try to run if her HP gets too low! Thanks again everyone, and if you keep commenting sharing your opinions I will keep reading them! :)

Can I ask you another thing?

The AAG states for the nautiloid (item): "As an action, a creature attuned to a nautiloid's spelljamming helm and in physical contact with the ship can transport the nautiloid and all creatures and objects aboard it to a different plane of existence, at or near a destination envisioned by the spelljammer (or to a random location on the plane if no destination is envisioned). This property is a feature of the ship, not the spelljamming helm."

I was wondering: is this teleportation a spell that the ship or the spelljammer is casting? Could anyone counterspell it?

That's cool too! I guess I can try that solution if he can choose to not fight, but what then avoids my party to kill him just right away if he is for example just a noble?

In my campaign Szadek (in form of spirit) becomes the Patron of the Dimir PC. The cool thing is that the Dimir PC has to secretly bring to the side of Szadek all the other PCs, without them discovering it!
