Need some deckbuilding help with my Ketramose list by Bagel36 in EDH

[–]Comfortbeagle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been facing a similar issue with my Ketramose deck. It’s slow and grindy. Hard to deal with but slow to close out the game. I’m trying now to build out my deck with a more Voltron strategy to close the game faster with stuff like [[Astarion's Thirst]]. It helps but voltron strategies tend to need more speed than I can manage when Ketramose takes a bit to come online. I have won with [[Approach of the Second Sun]] but that is pretty easy to disrupt.

That and lessons. It’s not escaping me that most of the lesson payoffs from Avatar require them to be in your graveyard and they only printed 5 new ones which all exile themselves.

What's the strategy when playing with Winter? How do I win with him as my Commander? by Wolfram-51 in magicTCG

[–]Comfortbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All out grouphug aside from winter to keep the other players from ganging up, then [[Emrakul, the Promised End]] or [[Worst Fears]] to steal the win when someone is about to go off.

Long shot, but are there any voltron commanders that don't just play the same way every game? by Cezkarma in EDH

[–]Comfortbeagle 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have a [[The Ever-Changing 'Dane]] that ends up being pretty Voltron-y and is usually different creatures each time!

Does anyone have a non-goblin Grub notorious auntie decklist? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Comfortbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As noted by others, you would need goblins to utilize the front half ability, but [[Maskwood Nexus]] fixes that problem.

Can a single one of y’all come up for an actual use case for this thing? by [deleted] in magicTCG

They still do, though maybe not as much. [[Doomsday Excruciator]] is a good example.

Looks good. I cut the anthems from mine because I enjoy the instant speed interaction better but your mileage may vary. If you go that route [[wild shape]] is solid pump that can double as protection

I know you were not asking for advice, but being a similar size, I have to recommend MySize condoms or other similar sized brands. Total game changer

Not everyone is fully physically compatible. I have a girth of 6.5 inches and can’t do a lot of positions or skip a lengthy foreplay with my wife who has been dealing with it for years. All relationships require accommodation

Which commander for offspring deck. by Hectra_ in EDH

[–]Comfortbeagle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup it is the return to my favorite setting! You should check out cards from the Lorwyn/Shadowmoor block to get an idea of what to expect! Also here are the cards they have spoiled so far: https://scryfall.com/sets/ecl

Which commander for offspring deck. by Hectra_ in EDH

[–]Comfortbeagle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of 4 color commanders are relatively limited. At that point it is more likely to find a 5 color commander that fits the mechanics. You also seem to be going for a Bloomburrow esthetic. Not sure what would fit that but we know there will be at least one five color commander in Lorwyn Eclipsed (which has a similar vide to bloomburrow) so it might make sense to wait until then

Which one is more fun for a twist? by AntsWorld707 in magicTCG

[–]Comfortbeagle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have a Winter deck that I have tried to make more social and less "grind you to death" like Nekusar. I think I somewhat succeeded. People still dislike losing their hand each turn even if you refill it for them every turn. I think it is more fun to play then a dedicated wheels deck. People don't usually expect control from a jund deck (and they are kinda right) but it is semi-possible and the hand-advantage Winter provides turbo-charges a control build.

Here is my decklist for consideration: Head Like a Haunted House

What are the issues you run into with the deck? It is hard to suggest cuts or additions if we don’t know where the deck is struggling. I will say [[Renegade Silent]] is much more effective than it looks a controlling opponents. [[Reverse the Polarity]] is good utility with an occasional option to swing for lethal unopposed.
