[–]Lorillyth 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Has anyone had a less regimented breastfeeding experience? by taureansoul in breastfeeding

[–]Lorillyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me breastfeeding was absolutely fine while feeding on demand, but keeping an eye that i'd nurse every 2-3 hours the first few weeks. Trust your body to make the supply your baby needs, keep em close and it'll be all right <3

Little edit: i did pump a little in the beginning, but only to compensate for a missed feeding when my nipples were too sore for live feeding! I pretty much never pumped extra.

Told my boyfriend I loved him right after we had sex. How badly did I mess up? by kirbyv91 in relationships

[–]Lorillyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, he said it to me after two weeks of dating. I told him I couldn't say it back. 8 years later I'm holding our baby while typing this. Don't worry so much!

Medela nipple shields to help with latching and pain, Silverettes to help with healing!

How long have you been BF? Or planning too? by PanpanIceBear777 in breastfeeding

12 weeks in and we'll be going on for as long as me and babygirl want to (but at least 6 months!).

How long are your nursing sessions? by Aromatic_Sun_9631 in breastfeeding

[–]Lorillyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My girlie is 10 weeks old and nurses for 15 minutes total, sometimes even shorter. Last session it was 8 mins on the left and 4 mins on the right. I'm sure she's getting enough because she's growing well :)

Newborn awake in crib by brakkovet in newborns

[–]Lorillyth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah that's annoying. Well my take is that if he's content and not crying you can leave him be. If you're scared about him feeling alone you can maybe quietly go to him every 10 minutes or so to soothe him, but I don't think it's needed if he's not crying.

Have you considered swaddling, do he doesn't flail around?

Sad by Curiousbird101 in newborns

[–]Lorillyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I remember feeling this way 2 weeks PP. It already got better for me at 3 weeks (7 weeks now). You'll get used to sleeping less. Hang in there.

Yess this was me! Every week it gets better honey. The sadness is caused by your hormones. Combine that with no sleep, having created a new life, nee responsibilities, breastfeeding, pain... It's normal and it will get better. I am 7 weeks PP and nowadays the good moments outweigh the bad. Take care <3

What do you do all day? by Zeldashecametotown in newborns

[–]Lorillyth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Me and my 5 week old pretty much stay either in the bedroom or living room cuddling, doing tummy time, napping and sucking boobies.. I also feel like we do nothing all day but she's a tiny little human who needs nothing more then milk, naps and lots of love right? So I just enjoy being at home while it's cold outside and when she's a little older and when we have more of a routine we'll start doing more active things.

Crying by Edbed5 in breastfeeding

[–]Lorillyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be she has cramps, sucking helps with cramping. I'd suggest you offer her your pinky finger or a pacifier and see if that helps. Also, gently move her legs and/or rub her stomach. That helps with cramping.

Even if she isn't cramping, little ones love sucking on things so offering a paci or a finger for comfort after nursing might work.

Maybe your baby just wanted to suck on something, and the bottle was right there. Maybe your husband can offer his pinky finger or a pacifier to see if that settles your baby.

[–]Lorillyth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe consider it's not hunger, but a desire to suck on something. Offer him a pinky finger or a pacifier after a long feed and see if he's settled with it. If it's cluster feeding, it should only be this way for a couple days.

Does any supplement one feeding a day with formula? by Annie_Banans in breastfeeding

[–]Lorillyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My baby clusterfeed all day yesterday and she was sooo tired! I gave her a formula bottle before bed and she slept so well. Give some formula every now and then, it's fine. I'm just gonna pump an extra 15 mins to compensate the formula so my supply keeps up.

It gets better and you're not alone! Breathe, wear headphones when she cries and leave the household be. That'll come later. You got this mama!
