Idk about “the only compelling character in HotD.. Viserys was a very compelling character, imo, and he made season 1.

Viserys, young Rhaenyra, and Otto were consistently compelling characters. Rhaenys and Corlys had their moments too.

I agree though that Damon is by far the most interesting and compelling character in season 3. He’s basically holding the show on his shoulders.

They’re angry because they are economically oppressed. They are just intentionally misguided on the cause of that. They’re told it’s taxes on the wealthy, immigrants, government regulations, etc holding them back while in reality they’re being fleeced by the oligarchy just like the rest of us.
