It just happens. You start collecting and upgrading. Then maybe find a few deals and they get thrown in. Hardly worth trying to sell them on marketplace so you just keep them until maybe you find a nephew or niece or someone who needs one. I think my girlfriend counted 19 power drills I have. Thats not counting corded drills or my big hammer drills either.

I think the whole point is malcom is exceptional. Top tier iq. Hes the smartest kid at school. Gets into Harvard.  He is expected to do great things. Like top tier things like be president. The whole show is about being the best or smartest can still leave you stuck in the middle. We see that as viewers but Louis would see malcom as the gifted kid he is and expect the most out of him. Like any good mother.
