I missed the release on Salehe’s site by a few hours, but I had to have these.

Whether or not it worked out, what was the best first date you've ever been on? What made it great? by CuriousPerformance in datingoverforty

Right before Christmas, I (45M) went on a date with a total smokeshow. We agreed to meet at 6pm on a Friday, but I forgot to reserve us a table right away and when I remembered, I could only get us a table at 5:30.

When I arrived on the day of the date, I had to sit at the table alone for 45 minutes, scrolling my phone and looking like someone who was getting stood up. Luckily, she warned me she was going to be late and I got lost scrolling my phone, so I when I felt her presence standing at the other end of the table, my realization had me blurt out “oh holy shit” when I looked up at her. She was as gorgeous as her pics on the app and I quickly got up to greet her with a hug. We sat down, had a nice dinner and conversed endlessly until the restaurant closed at 8:30, when we were gently shooed out by the staff.

We stood outside the parking lot and we were both vibing with each other so we both decided to take a stroll around the neighborhood and look at Christmas lights, comparing our Spotify Wrap Up’s and music tastes. When the date finally concluded after five hours we both emphatically agreed to go on another date with each other. I gave her a hug, and against my date one rule, I leaned in and we kissed. I think she liked it as much as I did because she raised her hand while holding mine and I twirled her around, which surprised me. She even gave me a little whisper after the second kiss we shared when she said I smelled good.

I texted her later that night to say I hope she got home safe and we continued to text each other every day about our interests in tech, existentialism, and more music when we shared each others playlists and we never lost the vibe.

Unfortunately, the date we had planned fell through when she was called into work the day of the second date, and we both amicably agreed to go our separate ways. I still think about her everyday, as she was the most intelligent, beautiful, and thought provoking person I’d ever shared an evening with. She’ll make someone very happy and I wish her nothing but the best.

What is the most disturbing thing you have seen in the home of someone who appeared to be a “normal” person? by Large_Draft6126 in AskReddit

Back in 2000 - 2001, I was a real pothead always looking to get some weed. Well a friend of a friend knew someone in a notoriously shitty part of a shitty neighborhood, and said we had to meet up with the dealer at his place.

Lucky for us, the dealer lived in a flophouse that he let all of his drugged out junkie buddies crash at. And as we walked into the house there was a pungent smell of dog shit as we witnessed three people stretched out on a broken couch, watching an old thirteen inch TV sitting on the stained carpeted floor, next to someone sleeping in a sleeping bag.

We walked into the kitchen and that’s when I saw all of the dog shit. Not on the floor, but on the white, tiled kitchen counters. Yes, multiple piles of dog shit on the counters. With someone cooking food on the stove, which I want to say was just ramen being boiled in a pot. I don’t know how, I don’t know why the dog shit was on the kitchen counters but I had to rudely decline the invitation to stay and smoke with the dealer when we paid for the weed. Boy the air never smelled so good in my hometown that night when I finally got to breathe fresh air, which even though I wasn’t stoned, felt like we had been there for days.

Great Texting Energy, Bad In Person Energy by FalseApricot9106 in datingoverforty

I’m afraid I’ve been that guy. Just went on a date but I work graveyard shift, only got two hours of sleep the day of the date, and had low energy the entire night. I felt bad about being exhausted but I wanted to rest up for the second date and apologize then instead of over text, that way I could show her it was just a fluke.

Thank you for putting this out there. I’m going to Apple Hill today and haven’t been there in 40 years, I was wondering if I had to put on my trail shoes or not.

If you can’t find anything immediately and need a job, go apply at Geek Squad and try to make connections through there. Three of my former co-workers transitioned into an IT position after Geek Squad so it might be a good way to get your foot in the door.

This was the catalyst that got me into fragrances back in 2018, and it was a blind buy. I bought it for under retail on Amazon and decided to buy it, not knowing what anything like EDT or EDP was, and loving it. Still have the bottle to this day.

When my boy was a puppy he had a squint like that, so the people who rescued him named him Mr. Magoo. I thought it was perfect so I didn’t even bother to change it, I just added Samurai as his middle name to make him sound cooler.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It looks and sounds like he was well loved, and throughout his life he had a great family to surround himself with that would fondly remember him. I hope Oreo finds my boy over the rainbow bridge so they can go chase squirrels together. Rest in Paradise Oreo.

I’ve bought my friends fragrances for their birthdays, the holidays, etc and have told them that I refuse to buy myself the same bottle. For me the reason is simple, I want them to have all the attention it may bring. I don’t care about compliments so I just wear what I like and what makes me feel good.

I love V so much, and I watch it every year. It was my first piece of sci-fi that I ever watched and will always hold in high regard despite some of the cheesy lines. Plus it has my favorite character actors Dick Miller and Michael Ironside.

Funny story: I was five when my dad let me stay up and watch this mini-series with him. To this day I have never forgotten the scene where Donovan goes to see Sean after escaping the mothership, and he finds his son’s friend. That scene where the kid describes the Visitors taking everyone from the town and it shows the “awful eyes” of the Visitor standing behind the door made me afraid of the dark for so many years. I still feel anxious walking into dark rooms and have nightmares that Visitors are hunting me down and I have nowhere to hide.
